I don't quite get today's "Questionable Content" strip

The strip addressed Raven’s absence a while back: she’s back in college, pursuing a physics degree. Although that might be a smokescreen to veil her Submacopter research.

I’d hate to laugh at your expense, but that was hilarious.

Sorry.

Nah, go ahead. I laughed myself at what *I thought *was meant by the post that prompted it. And then again when I realized what a jackass I’d been. At least amusement happened, if not quite as I intended.

And I wasted all that condescending-ness, too. I don’t have a limitless supply, so I try to only use it when needed. It just seemed like such an insane thing for someone to get irritated by, I couldn’t help myself.

Forgetting, of course, one life’s primary rules. If it looks like someone’s doing something no sane person would do, then they might not be doing what you think they are.

Just because it’s my fault, doesn’t mean my vengeance will not be horrific . . .

Are… you sure you’re not a character in the comic?

Heh, I was set to give Ura-Maru one of Dora’s “Oooooyoursoooocute!” hugs.

I’m pretty sure not. I’ve checked, and my character design hasn’t radically changed for the last 10 years, that’s pretty conclusive.

Though, it would be nice to know that all the weird crap in my life and my personal neurosises were a) serving to entertain people, b) would eventually be resolved in a heartwarming fashion, and c) said resolving would involve a cute, quirky, clever chicks. Or multiples thereof.

(Neuroses? Neurosi? ‘all of those neuroisis?’)

If it will get me hugs from attractive, sexually adventurous goth chicks, though, I will claim to anything you want . . .

I was hoping for ‘cool and slightly intimidating,’ but will accept ‘awkwardly cute.’ If it comes with enough bodily contact, and if I retain rope use privileges.

Hah. In all the talk of the surprise kiss and when it’s going to happen and what kind of dramalarity will ensue, I don’t think anyone actually predicted that Marigold might just strike out. (Not that Tai might not go for it anyway, but I’m getting a “this was a mistake” vibe from her.)

Tai is probably realizing *When she invited me to ‘read her fanfiction’… she actually wanted me to READ HER FANFICTION! :smack: *

One neurosis, many neuroses.

What, an unlikely wind-up, leading to nothing, and then laughing at the shippers in the comment section? That would be absurd! Nothing like that has ever happened before, what makes you think it will start now?

Though that would be a waste of a perfectly good ‘Marigold being adorably awkward’ set-up . . .

Actually, the author should be commended. Given the relative rarity of consistently straight webcomic women, he’s shown considerable restraint. Especially given the setting. (‘the Lesbian Capital of the World’ nickname was not granted ironicly)

Alternatively, he may just prefer the less common but more practical fantasy that all the cool chicks are actually into dudes . .

I’d say the visual appeal lessens when the novelty wears off, but it doesn’t.

Psh, I’m not that desperate!

Coooolllld.

Sad thing is…yeah, that’s semi-social geeks for you.

Aww. Tai’s ‘hurt’ face makes me sad.

That kind of thing is rough enough when said by someone deliberately being a jerk. It’s really bad when said by someone who’s not.

Looks like it didn’t stick, though. Self-confidence is a wonderful thing.

Hmm…I don’t have nearly as strong a reaction from her face than I do the giant leap away from Marigold that she took. (1791, right?) She jumped 2-3 feet away from her!

Yeah, that’s tough. Though, I think at this point Tai knows that Marigold doesn’t mean anything (non-WoW related) mean spirited, and it’s cleared up soon.

I really like the arc that Marigold’s on right now. She’s getting immediate (positive) confidence feedback and (more importantly) she’s acting on it. She still may not realize her comment had bite, but she’s making steps towards Tai to build a good friendship.

Aaaand we’re once again in a relationship shitstorm. Great.
Jeph, why do you hate us so?

Man, Dora sucks.

I didn’t even know Marten had an “angry face”.

I don’t know why, he actually uses it kind of a lot.

Man, if Dora gets pissed at him over this…

I’ve seen his happy face, his pouty face, his “I’m wondering if this relationship is right for me face”, but anger? I must have missed it.

At least Marten had the stones to get mad at Dora instead of rolling over, for a change.
