I Fall To Pieces: An Autumn MMP

Ain’t that about how it always goes?

At the beginning of every month.

Usually I just lurk here but the title of this MMP has been haunting me so I’m listening to Patsy Cline sing it and you should too; it’s lovely. Here.

Up from nap. Watching Young Frankenstein, and making spicy tuna cakes with chipolte creme.

I think he actually enjoys barking.

We could gather all the Mumpers and go on a three hour tour.

Nifty constume, Sunny.

Well, welcome out of the shadows. And yeah, I love some Patsy.

In three months, will the MMP thread title be ‘I fall to Pisces’?

That’s it. I’m tuna-ing you out.

Ugggh…I feel a haddock coming on.

Abalone to all these fish jokes.

Evening all. Dropped the electric bill off and finished my shopping (mostly frozen stuff) at Publix, then got a Double Whopper from the King and am now stuffed and happy.

Sunny, nice costume…doesn’t look like Beamette is thrilled by it–or maybe not thrilled with you taking a picture…feel better soon.

flyboy, I know the feeling of working to clear out e-mails only to find they have proliferated while you were doing that. 22 seems manageable.

Have a good night/good morning all.

I’m a cheap date. I fall for pizzas.

I could have sworn I posted this morning. What happened? It’s not in a draft, either, and I know it didn’t dream it.

I decided it was time to climb out of my pit of grief and start sucking it up. So far, not so bad.

I went to the allergy doc today. He said it is indeed an auto-immune mast cell disorder. If insurance approves, I’ll get the medicine via injections once a month. I hope to find a local allergist. I REALLY liked this doc, but getting up to Seattle and back that often will be an issue. You have to wait in the office 2 hours to make sure you don’t go into anaphylaxis, so I probably can’t catch a train each way. But I’m relieved there’s something that hopefully (80% chance) will help.

He said I’m on dangerously high levels of antihistamines. That’s what I said! The issue is when you hit the big 6-5, antihistamines can cause dementia. Great. However, it’ll take at least several months to see if the injections work, so I’m to stay on them for now.

shoe, you’re a good soul for helping your friend. I hope it didn’t cost you too much, emotionally.

flyboy, between the prep before the time off and the catch-up after, vacations are an illusion.

sunny, hope you feel better tomorrow. Beamette’s mushroom cap is to die for.

Please don’t make me be Gilligan. I’ll happily be Ginger, Mary Ann, Lovey Howell or a coconut, though the last one would by typecasting.

I didn’t think cats had any other speed.

Kittens do have the “Tasmanian destructo-fuzz-muffin” speed as well. Even “mature” cats like the Princess can get zoomies, too.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

Alex has 2 speeds. “Sloth on Quaaludes” and “unconscious” No zoomies.

Well, do you migrate? :coconut: :dove:
And fingers crossed for the shots.

I could be carried…by an African swallow.
(Note my discretion in not mentioning banging coconuts. Although I guess I just did.)

Thank you! Hope your work day is heavenly. (Somebody stop me. Please.)

she should of put a super Mario or Luigi figure on the hat

Happy Tuesday!

There’s a beautiful fall day out there, after raining for much of the morning.

I’m taking advantage of the cooking I did over the weekend, so lunch is spaghetti bolognese, with sauce made on Saturday. There are two more containers in the freezer for a future fast lunch.

I have to go to the doctor today, just to pick up my records, as I changed to a new doctor last year. It’s not permitted to mail the records, so I’m glad I’m relatively close to the office. Rather time-consuming, but shouldn’t be too bad.

Also crossing fingers for the shots. I’m glad there is hope.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 48 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 77 and N.O.S. for the day. Today is laundry day. HUZZAH! Plumber will be over to the church house to fix the drippy pipe late mornin’(ish), but I do not have to be there, so yay for that. I can assume sloth mode for the day outside of laundry. Sup shall be leftovers from yestiddy.

Nellie appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed for the shots.

I see some fish puns were made last night. I assume that was just for the halibut.

Now I neeed more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Um there’s a thought…
:astonished: :astonished: :astonished:

Shame on you…

Hence our choice of the name Taz for our now-old man.

Sorta for me, too. I’m going to change the sheets on our bed, and I’ll launder them sooner than later. We’re promised temps in the 30s tonight and for some nights after - flannel sheets will be installed… applied… um, put on the bed. That’s my big plan for today.

I’m dealing with a weird pain issue. My shoulders hurt - we’re talking pain, not ache - if I knit too long, like more than half an hour or so. I don’t want to quit knitting - I’ve got a really nice blanket underway. I’m going to try doing the exercises I was given when I had a frozen shoulder, since the pain is similar. Maybe it’s a repetitive motion thing, or I tense up or something. I’ve tried reclining more or staying more upright, but posture doesn’t seem to affect it. I do stop periodically to stretch, but it doesn’t seem to be enough.

How idiotic is that? I can’t blame an old football injury or war injury. I knit. Good grief!

Oh, yeah, the other plan for today - I’m going to make a pot of chili for FCD. I don’t like the stuff myself - I think cumin is the main culprit. Plus he wants me to chop up and mix in a brat or two with the ground beef, and that just sounds weird. I’ve got ground beef thawing - half will go for his chili, and I think I’ll make sloppy joes with the other half. Sounds like a cooking day ahead!

I need to keep myself occupied. This last week in FL involved a lot of idleness and eating too much junk food. I’ve got to shed the excess poundage I added, and it’s not easy going cold-turkey from sugar. I had an apple yesterday - it helped. So, busy busy no eat-y.

Happy Tuesday!

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s 11C/51F here today, not sure whether it really feels like that because I am alternately hot and cold. Yup…gots da lurgy! My tests are negative for covid so I am sure it’s just a head cold but it’s still miserable. I was supposed to be on campus today but decided to stay at home with my leprous germs instead of spreading it around on public transport (which is probably where it came from in the first place since 99% of people aren’t wearing masks now).

shoe sorry to hear your friend’s news, it must be hard for you to deal with too. Good for you though, being there for her.

nellie hope the shots work!

Nothing more to add, I’m off for another 10 minutes of sniffing and sneezing, with some coughing thrown in for good measure.

Sounds like me last week. I think I had 4 solid days of drippy nose, and I’m pretty sure my daughter’s spawn was the source. I’m much better now, so I’ll send my healthy vibes your way!

It’s raining here now. Definitely a stay-inside-and-cook day. Which I will. Eventually. When I decide to shower and dress.

Good morning all. I’m up doing my “chivvying onto the bus” thing. I’ll head back to bed once that’s done.

I’ve got no excuse for being this tired, mind you, but I am.

Happy Toesday everyone.

Happy Toosday!

Drizzly and chilly 44 degrees outside.
Not many at the park this morning. I was leaving with Lucy, when Bandit showed up, so I decided to stay a bit longer. Then Jax showed up.
Echo still gave me a fit about leaving. Not much fun for her as there was nobody for her to play with.
Lucy doesn’t play and Jax is only interested in playing ball. She and Bandit try to play, but they just can’t figure it out. He’s a 100+ pound rottie and she is only 43 pounds, they both like to wrestle but they are too mismatched in size. They can’t really run together either as Echo is quick and agile. Bandit is pretty fast once he gets going, as long as he can go in a straight line.

I wish I didn’t have to go back out today, but my son has to irk tonight.
It’s supposed to have stopped raining by then, but we also have freeze warnings, and there has been some talk of snow.
I’m not ready for this.
Loving my new boots though. I have to spray the zippers though; they are very hard to pull up.

Hope the shots irk for you Nellie.
