I Finally Saw Casablanca: Things People Are Incredulous Of

I haven’t played a video game in 27 years. I have no interest in playing computer games. Ever.

I have never seen a Tom Cruise movie. It started out accidentally, but by the mid-90s I decided I’d just become the only person in America to never see one.

I’ve never shit my pants at a full run. Always planned on it but the opportunity never presented itself.

Umm - and people are shocked by this? I don’t think so. I call foul and give you a big Family Feud style “X”. :smack:

Thanks for playing, please move on. Johnny has a lovely box of Rice-a-Roni for you and some turtle wax for your car (or your pants as the case may be.)

There are a lot of TV shows I’ve never seen. Lost, Survivor, Frasier, and *American Idol *come to mind.

I’ve never owned a house, which is unusual for a man of my income and age in Omaha.

I’ve never been skiing, or been outside the US.

I’ve probably never been legally drunk, either. A bit tipsy, yes, but never beyond what I could recover from in an hour or two.

Interesting how all these have been mentioned by dopers in reasonably short order, but would be shocking to most of my peers.

Until last year, I never had an ATM card. This seemed to mystify a lot of people. How did I get cash? I made a budget and went to the bank at the beginning of the month, and took out money based on what I was planning to spend.

I didn’t really have anything against using an ATM, but my method worked great for me for many long years (I’m old enough that the card didn’t come standard with my checking account when I opened it). However, last year I was working out of town for an extended period of time, and it just happened to be an area that didn’t have a branch of my (otherwise national) bank. Funny thing, after about a month of using the ATM card, the bank made a big announcement about expanding in that region, so maybe I could have held out.

I plead end of long work day. Loose fingers.

In the spirit: I do not own a cell phone. I live in New York City. Everyone has a cellphone or 3.

I had a friend who did that for years. I am now trying to take out enough spending money for the week in cash and not use my ATM card for anything but gas and bills. ATM cards can be the devil.

Really? Never? Not once?

I call shenanigans.

I’ve never been drunk, nor have I watched more than two minutes of American Idol. Maybe if I did the first, I might enjoy the second… hmmm…

Incidentally, I’ve seen a video of it being done. I remember thinking that it was…impressive.

And to stray even farther from the point, does your username have any relation to the O.S. Card books?

I’ve never been fishing, in any way, shape, or form. I’m surprised at how often people are surprised by this. (Not that it comes up all that often, but when it does, somebody is always surprised, or even shocked.)

Never seen Gone with the Wind, nor read the novel. Though I could answer a ton of GWTW trivia questions.

I’ve seen Casablanca. That usually shocks people.

I’ve never watched a football game.

On The Waterfront

Never saw it until a couple of weeks ago.

I know it’s supposed to be one of the “Essentials” and one of Brandon’s best works, (and maybe I’ve been watching too MANY old movies lately) but I liked him better in The Godfather.

Q

I have never eaten a Big Mac.

I grew up in Lake Tahoe (well, not actually in the lake), but only visited Yosemite for the first time in 2007… I visited Iran nearly 10 years before Yosemite.

I don’t have cable - haven’t ever had it.

I have never gotten a speeding ticket (but I haven’t owned a car in 8 years).

I’ve never been drunk.
I’ve never used any illicit drugs.
I’ve never been west of the Mississippi River.

I’m a 64-year-old man who has never had sex with a woman. Now, you’re all saying “of course not, you’re gay.” Well yeah, but most of the gay men (still alive) in my age group had previously been married, and have kids/grandkids. And most of the younger gay men I know had “experimented” at some time. Also: I’m a solid 6.0 on the Kinsey Scale, so it’s something I’ve never had any desire to do.

I’ve also never been to Disneyland/world or watched American Idol.

And thanks to Dopers’ recommendations, I have bought *Watership Down, *but haven’t gotten around to reading it yet.

My dad and his brothers played professional football.

I hate football.
