So I was curious about why people with Tourette’s Syndrome swear. Why don’t they scream out anything else but swear words? I don’t know why, it just came to me and I was curious.
So I thought “This is perfect for the Straight Dope. I’ll ask, they can answer.” Suddenly it hit me. BAM. Well, more like a biff. Probably a Boff, but not so much like a Bop! So I says to myself “self, maybe this has been asked before.”
I run a search through the archives and come up with 5 topics on Tourettes. After a few minutes of rumaging through the threads, I found my answer! I didn’t have to post. I eradicated my ignorance without wasting anybody’s time, or space on the server. How neat. I might try that again sometime.
Yeah yeah, the river of irony runs deep here. It’s still a mundane pointless thing I must share.
Enderw, that’s why you rarely ever see me posting questions in GQ. Every time I think about something to ask, it’s already been asked and answered. I guess I’m just not curious about enough stuff to come up with more original or unique questions. Ah well, at least the rest of the folks around here think up enough interesting topics that I learn things I hadn’t thought about before.
Thank you for saving a post and a bit of my time. I will now follow your exemplary lead and save several replies by waiting for this to post, rather than getting impatient and hitting the submit button multiple times resulting in duplicate replies. You are all welcome.
Ya know, here is something that has always bugged me about that… You constantly see someone start a thread, only to be told that that topic had been done back in the day, and you are given a likn to some dusty old thread. Then if you try to add to that dusty old thread, someone gives you crap for reviving a “zombie” thread.
So, if you aren’t supposed to post topics that have already been done, and it’s bad form to revive old threads, does that mean eventualy the only active forum will be mpsims?
I mean it’s the only forum that you don’t see that sort of thing as much, as everyone is flirting, talking about food, or killing huge threads with no real content.
I dunno. It just bugs me.
And don’t tell me someone already posted something about this.
