Chicken was gooooooood: extra moist and tender white meat with crispy skin. I rule. :smiley: Takes a while to roast so I fried up some sausage/tater/onion hash while waiting, and the leftovers from both shall be tomorrow’s lunch, along with some pesto pasta and that fanciest of desserts, Jell-O.

My friend stopped by, my neighbor popped in, I got a few more rows knitted in front of “Mad Men” and played a rousing game of “Kill The String” with Nikki, so now I’m off to wash my hair so I don’t have to take the time in the morning and it’s off to dreamland for me. Good night, y’all!

Wait, wait. I missed this before, and I have questions:

If it’s uncured, that implies that it is still smoked. Does that mean it is double smoked after your friend is done with it? Does your friend home-cure?

Is the meat whole or sliced?

Are you saying Aldi carries pork belly, or am I completely misunderstanding something? I reallyreeeeeallllllly want to try slow-roasting a pork belly at home; I’ve heard so much and it sounds so amazing, but they don’t carry it at my regular grocery haunts. There is an Aldi not far away, though, but I’ve never seen pork belly or anything similar beyond pre-packed regular streaky bacon.

I’m a busy woman - I have, um, retired things to do. I can’t be futzing around with fire for hours and hours! :stuck_out_tongue:
