From the sound track.
Well it’s after noon and nobody has gotten here yet, in fact none of them have even left to get here yet.
Now mom is in a bad mood, can’t say I blame her.
Time for the Feats of Strength…?
Everybody has gone.
My mother is leaving to go to her next party.
Once she leaves I’ll back my truck up into the driveway so we can load up.
Not that I got that big of a xmas haul, I still have books to pack and move. Since it’s not raining I can move a bunch of them.
Sah-son is driving me crazy to get out of here.
I kicked the traditional Chinese food meal up a notch with Thai soup and Japanese shumai. Happy tummy. Now, more Who.
That was earlier, trying to row across the river
One boat almost went into the bridge pier coming back because of the current. (A bridge that didn’t exist 200+ years ago, oh ye smart ones)
Home, exhausted, and sans 2 gifts that I forgot to load in the car. My family doesn’t seem to understand the concept of $10 gift - they had bunches of other gifts to distribute, but we didn’t take anything for anyone except my mom. Oh well…
The food was good and plentiful - no meal, just lots of grazing all day. And Mom sent us home with a tray of cookies, so yum.
Traffic approaching the DC beltway sucked mightily, so we took and exit before the big stop and came home along a longer, slower alternate route. But we’re home, so yay! Higgs is happy to be fed and able to snooze - poor pup was running around all afternoon!
I’s tahred…
Made it home.
Despite all the assholes on the road.
Like the jerk driving 40 mph in the left lane, totally oblivious to the havoc he was causing.
Or the guy who decorated the luggage rack on top of his car with blinking blue xmas lights. I think I was not the only one trying to figure out if he was a cop or not.
The day was better than I expected.
No; Santa VS Martians was about 50% of Pia Zadoras total films. Merry Christmas, you wonderful old Building & Loan! is from the less well know Mexican film “Santa Claus Vs the Devil”. Strange that Lupita didn’t have much more luck that Pia although she may haven’t have had to get married quite as young. Rented maybe – but not married.
Gonna crash. MWAH!
What I don’t understand about Santa Claus Conquers the Martians is why Santa had a giant clarinet on the wall of his workshop. (I think it was Santa’s workshop - might’ve been some other building and I’m not watching the movie again to find out.)
I’ve been binge-watching “Heroes” on Netflix since I never watched it when it first came around. Also, someone here told me that the tapatalk app will let me host photos so I’m trying it out so I can post pics of my ball python by request. Those ooked out by reptiles can just move along to the bonus kitty photo.

Bonus fluffy kitty as promised, my Nikki posing while I played with lighting. No scary reptiles or other non-fuzzywuzzy creatures in sight:

Merry Christmas!
Twelve years ago tonight we ran to the hospital in the snow. That night my husband lost his keys in the drifting flakes. The next day he lost his heart to a tiny little girl. Today she sits next me, a delicious darling child just as lovely as the day I first met her nearly a dozen years ago.
Happy almost birthday, SJH! Your parents are delighted and honored to be part of your life.
That’s a beautiful snake, purplehorseshoe!
Happy almost-birthday, SJH!
I have survived Christmas. I am now home with a cup of Tension Tamer Tea. I have not read nor have I skimmed.
Good day to you all.
I don’t understand a damn thing about *Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.

If there is just one that confuses you, you are way ahead of me.
Oooooh, a cuppa tea sounds good. I’m going with Earl Grey. Soft-boiled eggs for dinner because I love them but can’t be arsed to mess with them at breakfast time. I even got ambitious enough to clean up the kitchen, and now the dishwasher is rumblehissrattling along, some hand-washing got finished, and the place in general looks much tidier as my gift to myself, I guess. I have a date tomorrow (fingers crossed! He’s quite cute but was boring as hell over the phone, hopefully will be more interesting in person) and chocolate for nibbles and my mom lent me a pair of knitting needles and some yarn so I’m going to teach myself how to knit over the weekend.
That was a lovely tribute, LavenderBlue.
I wonder how many women have said that I was “boring as hell over the phone”?
She’s a good kid. I think you’d like her. She loves reading, cats, math and chocolate. The last time I brought her to the library was last week where she promptly took out a stack of books taller than she is and then spent hours buried in fairy tales and books on reptiles. She’s going be twelve in less than an hour and she still has a core of sweetness and innocence that I hope nothing will ever quite dull.
