The coffee candy is Dutch, Hopjes (hop-yuz) and my mother brings me back a bag every time she comes back from there…I eat them, but I’ve still got oodles of those things.
[li] a mini-disc type thing (not sure what its all about)[/li]It’s a mini-CD (don’t try it in self-feeding players, only in platters) from the company I almost bought a bike from, but didn’t.
[li] and an absolutely wonderful Chia Pet which is without a doubt my favorite thing. It’s even in the shape of a kitty my favorite animal![/li]I debated that one, but I knew I was never going to grow the thing, so it really was the perfect “white elephant.”

Nope, your not alone… I haven’t gotten my stuff yet either… And as far as I know, my person has not received anything (that’s what I get for intrusting my precious elephant goods to the US postal service… but it really isn’t that far from PA to OH)
Okay. I am very, very, very, very sorry for waiting so long. I finally sent off my W.E. package today. (It only has one thing in it, but it’s a cool thing… I wish I’d read this thread before I sealed the box up, because there’s tons of stuff on my desk that I could have included.)
Which now, at long last, entitles me to complain that nobody has sent me a package. Whoever you are, SHAME on you for waiting even longer than I did.

Folks we are talkin’s first class quality junk here, and I guarantee none of it is crap that someone else foisted off on me!

Jeffro, I’m still waiting on mine (and for my lucky person to get theirs, despite the fact that I mailed it on June 20th!! A vacation on the part of my lucky recipient of course intervened, but we’re having awful luck with a certain post office so I think there may be delay at THIS end).
Anyway, I am sure mine will arrive soon, but I too am willing to send off a delightful box of stuff I couldn’t fit into my first box. I’m thinking of MNEMENMNETH or someone similar who wishes they’d signed up but didn’t.
I think I could participate in six of these things (and I would, if I weren’t so scared of the six boxes of crap I’d get in return).
Cranky, fear of getting your own crap back is not going to save you (or any of the rest of us). I am beginning to think you’ve started a wonderful, horrifying tradition.

I sent something to MY recipient that just screamed white elephant(an overly cutesy Noah’s Ark sculpture that is a music box playing “Climb Every Mountain”)But after reading this thread I realize I have tons of cr…, er, knick-knacks that would have been fun to send. So if anyone is feeling left out I can send them a package. Maybe I actually should send it to my original recipient though. Any takers?

Well, I recieved the stuff a while ago, but I forgot who sent it and I don’t want to go all the way upstairs to find out. But I got a CD of Japenese music, a wierd E-Trade music video CD of Tina Turner, and that singing fish (but in bear form. (i.e. it’s a singing bear.))
I sent out my stuff a few days ago, I procrastinate like a bastard, but it is on the way!

I love it! It’s a Dilbert M&M dispenser. And, it has my name on it! And, he even included some candy with it!

I don’t think my person has received her stuff either, even though I mailed it almost a month ago.
I sent a lovely 100% polyester blouse. It was creme colored with tassels, saddles, and spurs. I don’t know what possessed my mother-in-law to purchase it for me, but I was too embarrassed to return it. I also sent a really ugly acrylic picture frame with mauve ribbon, lace, and fake pearls. That was also a gift from my mother-in-law. 
I didn’t realize that people would be sending so much stuff. I have a lot more white elephant things that I could send. If anyone is feeling really neglected, email me. I can send you a package straight away.
Just so TheLoadedDog doesn’t think I’m spurning his gifts, the Tom and Jerry thing is a huge hit at the office. A good distraction from writing code.
