I Guess There Needs To Be A MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 48 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 82 and partly N.O.S. whatever that means. I suppose it could also mean mostly cloudy. TWPTB are bein’ cryptic. I envision a day of total sloth and uselessness cause I want it to be that way. I am retired and can do this, so there. :stuck_out_tongue: Don’t even have any plans for what we shall sup upon and right now I don’t even care.

OK, so here it is. We have a MMP. Take off with it and have fun folks!

Happy Moanday Y’all!

The least you could do is throw something shocking and controversial in your OP. Such as < thinking > “Start your day cleaning up cat hork and it can only get better…”

Yeah, Taz (I’m pretty sure) horked up in front of the kitchen stove and the second I let Higgs out of her crate, she ran to it and snarfed it down. It was starting to dry and stick, so it had been there a while, but that dog remembered. So my day can only get better, right?

FCD has his second booster 8 at, after which we’re heading to the marina to do a few boat things. Then I think I may do a load of laundry. My booster is at 2:15 at a different CVS because we get 2 different boosters. So that’s the day’s excitement.

Happy Moanday!!

Good morning from the extremely wet and soggy PNW.

The rain and winds moved in overnight. I woke up this morning to a soaking wet Siberian Husky who needed a very brisk toweling off. Two very soggy towels later, he is merely wet. and not drenched.

Back to the salt mines today. I was thinking of going into the office today, but I thought better of it when I heard the downpour outside as I was lying in bed. There will be lots of standing water on I-5 and lots of accidents due to hyrdoplaning. So, I’m just going to nope on out of that situation today. I was going to meet up with my son for lunch, but I’ll just reschedule.

Yesterday I went to a new wood-fired pizza place for lunch. It was…okay. They’ve only been open there about three days, so I’l going to give them the benefit of the doubt and try again when they’ve been open longer and have had some time work out the kinks. After that, we ran to Safeway to pick up a few things which turned into $330.00 worth of stuff. We needed chicken for Polar and some diet coke, but somehow ended up with all this other stuff. I think if my husband hadn’t been with me, it would have been a smaller bill.

That’s all the news that’s fit to print. I hope you all have a great day!

Today will be an endless day of bitching on my part

well in about 4 or 5 hours I get to bitch at la county officialdom for various things because things were so fucked up this year concerning the IHSS recertification that the so-called substitute worker made my youngest cousin whos physically 46 and about 6 to 11 mentally depending on the day and situation cry for 20 minutes …

and I have to figure out what the hell is going on with mine because aunt not getting her 580 for the care and feeding of me means bills aren’t getting paid the feeding me part is up for debate (not really but she teases me about it and I let her since it eases the worry)

Then I have to call the HQ of a certain bbq chain and tell them that I’m still owed 60 bucks of either food or cash cause the local manager never called me back like they were supposed to

And today is paying most of the bills day which puts her in a bad mood …

Well good morning! It’s currently 47F with a predicted high of . . . 47F. It’s pissin’ rain and this gran’s ar’tritis is awake and banging pots and pans. Irish has some PTSD kicking his butt, so Róisín, who is 18 months and wearing 2T clothes is laying pushed up against my leg, and every now and again she wings her arm up and slaps me in the shoulder. Jack the Ancient Cat #1 is curled up against Daisy, and I have this tiny wedge of my king-sized bed in the upper right corner, so I gave up, sat up, and saw that y’all are up.

Hello!

I am beginning a new discipline, I have determined that I want to learn to wire wrap/weave jewelry. I have been gathering supplies and knowledge (YouTube tutorials are the bomb!) and I will begin my second project later today. The first was just learning how to make a double ended spiral, which is a little more difficult than it sounds, but not frustrating. I had to order a clamp to hold the ends of the wrap I am making to hold a teardrop shaped piece of fluorite. I anticipate many happy hours playing with wires and crystals and minerals.

A wonderful Moanday wish to everyone!

Up and atom. 'Tis the last week of the mad project. I’m hoping I don’t need to be onsite for much of the install, I hate those. Fortunately, they keep asking for more things for me to build, and I can’t build onsite, so I get to stay in my shop.

I’m sooo looking forward to next weekend. I wanna sleep in and not work 10+ hours 7 days a week. And I want to clean my shop properly. I’ve got sawdust in places it really shouldn’t be.

Onward! Stay safe, y’all.

Good morning all. Heading for 75F today, need to do the morning shop-n-sammich run early, then have a eye Doc appointment at 2pm, and need to work my swimmin’ in there somewhere. Enjoying today since rain is in the forecast for tomorrow.

VanGo, hope they are as prompt with the checkbook as they are with the requests.

wiki!!. Been awhile, glad your stopping by. Enjoy your new learning, sounds like fun.

shady, get your gameface on and don’t let the B******* wear you down.

FCM, hope the boosters are no problem; outside of a slightly aching arm mine was fine.
Ok, onward into the week! All y’all take care.

Woke up feeling like a sack full of assholes with the good ones picked out (tip o’ the hat to an old Navy Chief). Must be a reaction to the vax. It’s also raining at a good clip. Pretty sure this is going to be a slow day.

Happy Humpday! (Well, it is for me…)
The builder’s design center is supposed to contact us today to set up a meeting for us to pick out what I’m calling “the F’s”: flooring, fixtures, faucets, finishes; basically every tiny little detail about the house. In some cases the standard stuff that’s included in the base price will be okay; in others we’ll definitely want to upgrade to better stuff. We think we’ve got a pretty good handle on what it’s all going to cost, but I’ll be very happy when this part is over and everything is locked in. The uncertainty is giving me more angst than I expected.

Not much else goin’ on. I told my boss I’m officially a short-timer, but they get to keep me for a few more months. I’m trying to find a 100% remote job so that I can make the move without having to be unemployed. We’ll see how that goes. My wife gets to keep her already work-from-home job (or else we wouldn’t have been able to do this at all,)

The heaving was short byt the misorts made up for it, timewise.

Could be worse. Certain canines like to snack in the litterbox, then immdeiately try to lick my face.

Wiki!
: tacklehug :
And good luck with the jewelry.

: crosses fingers for a poratable job for Wheelz :

Back home again. I need to splice 4 more lines - the bow and stern lines are way too long, as I expected they would be, but that opinion was disregarded… Luckily, splicing is pretty quick and easy - I should have them done in no time. We also removed a bunch of old dock lines that previous slip holders just left hanging there - the ends that were in the water were covered with all manner of muck - they’re now in the dumpster.

FCD installed the ladder to the engine room.
Imgur
Now he doesn’t have to stand on the engine block to get out. It’s actually a swim ladder and he made a mount for it. Works good!

We also retied the lines so the boat sits a little farther in the slip. Tide was low - getting off was a bit of a challenge, especially since the finger pier is wobbly. We’re going to put a grab rail on for our use. And we brought home the snacks and diet cokes that we’d left aboard. All in all, a successful trek. Plus he got his shot. I need to leave in about 90 minutes for mine.

Got a notification that someone in Rio de Janeiro tried to use my Visa - dammit, I may have to cancel the card again. Dammit. #@%&($@%& thieves!!!

Moomm Higgs was only trying to help. :innocent: Sorry about your Visa.

I used to like going to Costco alone for this very reason.

Wiki!!! Welcome back!!! I look forward to hearing about wire wrapping. Have you seen the bonsai trees that people make with this technique. I am in awe. I’m sorry Irish is having a hard time.

Sounds like going to the beach. :stuck_out_tongue: Please remember to eat.

Cookie I’m going to remember that one. I’ll tip my hat to your old Chief as well. I’ve been meaning to ask: what kind of RV are you selling?

Wheelie I’m sure you’ll be able to find something. The job market hereabouts is crazy.

TWPTB are having a moment today. One the hand, it’s supposed to be hot and sunny, on the other hand they sent me a text about a big Pacific storm coming through my area, and on the third hand it’s cloudy and windy. No chance of rain. Sigh. I guess I’ll find out when it happens.

Dinner at the folks was mostly fine. My dad is still aggravating me, but I need to let it go.

Happy Monday all!

I did nothing yesterday. I made scrambled cackleberries, and deadpig strips for breakfast; and I scattered clover seeds in the yards. That’s it.

I was wondering if it was going to rain yesterday, so I wouldn’t have to water the seeds. It seemed like all we’d have is a bunch of wind. It finally did rain though. Today it’s very windy.

Waiting for a call-back from the body shop - they still haven’t submitted the estimate to GEICO. I’m getting just a tad pissed I want my car fixed, dammit!

It’s a 2010 Pleasure-Way Excel TS. Ford E-350 V-8 with 30K miles. Full amenities, sleeps 2 adults. If you have an interest in this, PM me for more details or questions.

I’ve been re-boosted, I did some banking, and I got a loaf of bread. Go me!! Time for some chillage.

I dearly wish they wouldn’t send CT scan results ahead of time through mom’s patient portal without layman’s terms interpretation. I did a dumb thing and googled most of the terms and was about to tear my hair out in fear by the time we actually talked to her doctor. It looks like the cancer may be in the process of metastasizing or they may have caught it just before it did, but whatever the case, the tumor is still shrinking and damn, those scans were scary as hell. I wish I’d waited until we talked to the doc before reading them.

Anyway, all good, or as good as it can be - she’s still responding to treatment (yay!) and is cleared for more.

In other news, my 'shrooms are growing, completely by accident. See, the mom unit got me a box kit of oyster mushrooms about two years ago, just for fun. Given all the emergencies that have been happening, I’ve never opened it. But I guess they started growing themselves, because all of a sudden I’ve got little oyster mushrooms poking out of the side of the box. I guess there’s enough moisture in that area of the kitchen I should probably be at least a little concerned (especially if it’s conducive to actual mushrooms).

Anyway, happy Monday, Dopers. I’m exhausted - going from screaming, borderline terror and back again has made me sleepy.

Afternoon all. Shopping (only 5 items today + the New York Times) -n- Sammich went off without a hitch, managed to get my 1,500 yards of swimmin’ in before my eye appointment (it helped that the office was just across the street from the gym). Am typing this with much larger than normal pupils. Being that it’s 75F and bright outside, may need some sunglasses if I go outside in the near future. New glasses ordered and paid for, so that’ll hold me for a couple of years. Doctor is a good guy but a constant chatterer, which I am not, so it is a bit awkward for me to keep up my side of the conversation.

talkie, glad things are going well for Mom-unit and maybe the Mushrooms are magic…

FCM, I really don’t think I’d fit well in the boating life; that looks a bit tight to get into.

Wheelie, hope the new place looks marvelous once it is done.

OK, better let the eyes rest a bit and let the de-dilation take effect.

FWIW, the beam in the middle lifts out if necessary. He just didn’t need to remove it to install the ladder.

I finally talked to someone at the body shop - for whatever reason, the estimate wasn’t sent to GEICO last week, but the guy I talked to today emailed it while we were on the phone. He said once they get the go-ahead and I take my car there, it’ll be about 5 working days to get it done - not sure if that includes waiting for the parts or what. It’d be nice if they could do the work while we’re on cruise and I can come home to a repaired car…

Mac-n-cheese-n-peas for supper because it’s easy and I don’t feel like fussing.

Howdy Y’all! We have indeed been slothful today, except that we did don appropriate for bein’ amongst the public attire and go have N.O,L. at our favorite Mexican place. That took care of the main need to feed today. Any other need will be via forage. Oh, and I learned how to turn the flashlight on on my iphone. Go Me! Why I did not already know how to do this I do not know.

MOOOOOOM that sucks about the credit card.

Wheelie I am sure you will find that portable job. Have fun pickin’ house stuff out.

talky good news about your mom respondin’ to treatment! Conga rats on the 'shrooms.
