I Have A Fever A Cowbell MMP

I’m making a bastard version of tacos and fajitas for dinner, both chicken and skirt steak. Both critter types are already in their respective marinades, and there’s tomatoes and cilantro and red onion and all the fixings. Forgot the sour cream, but NoCuteNickame is trying to eat healthier so I guess that’s not the worst thing.

Big ol’ storms supposed to roll into the area tonight.

Spidey - swampy has already shunned my hospitality. I’m sure he’s afraid that if he comes this far north, he’ll get too much couth and class and stuff. :stuck_out_tongue: FYI, I think I’m up to 15 confirmed attendees, including me and my spousal unit. A high school friend of mine is planning to come, as well as my last pre-retirement boss. It’ll be an interesting mix.

I’m all showered and de-leafed - clean feels so good!! And that’ll give me some time in the morning since I don’t have to shower then. Now, if only I can sleep!

No.
A graduate of the Colorado School of Mines, he referred to the genre as “Sinus Fiction”.

No hockey tonight, but I had the Booster Club Board Meeting. Drinking a Yuengling Summer Wheat(Hefeweizen: It’s not just for breakfast anymore!!)

My Uncle Jim’s last two cats were “Wombat” and “Spot”.

Shoe, sounds tasty.

I always thought I was missing a twin…

And now that we’re discussing this, I have remembered that my fraidy cat (named Panda, because, wait for it, she’s black and white) was named “Spot” by the rescue organization we got her from. I looked at her, then at the adoption person. She said, “Well, sometimes we get a lot of kittens and we have to just make up names.” Panda the cat does not have a spot. :dubious:

I have just dosed my son with 7 medications for his bronchitis/sinus thingie. He requested pudding as his reward for complying with my demands. I complied.

Fried chickin for din-din. Rain in through here tomorrow, with thunderstorms. Nothing mid-western I am sure.

Keep dry and safe everyone.

Same here to both sentiments. Prayers and hugs to all who need them.

We’re midway in the launch. There were issues but we overcame it all. I will sleep solid tonight – I hope.

I want a Dalmatian; gonna name him Stripe.
Mooommm, I’m in the possibility camp. Haven’t had a chance to sit down & think that far yet, but I do know I’m in NY (City) the weekend before & NY (State) the weekend after.

In college, when I was still dumb enough to rescue cats in spite of my terrible allergies, I had a big orange tabby named Weasel. He was a great cat, until he decided that everyone in the house who wasn’t me or him must be an intruder. The week that he marked one roommate’s bed, and another roommate’s houseguest (who was asleep on the sofa!) made it time to find a new home for my big fellow.

(Parenthetically, no, you probably don’t want a Dalmatian, spidey. I’ve had 3 rescues, and the kids spent a few years believing that the proper name for the breed was actually Damnation. Ornery critters - and that trait isn’t improved by a tendency to deafness. Honestly didn’t know whether a couple of them couldn’t hear or just didn’t care. Like having a giant spotty cat!)

ddsun, I have a sinus thing. Took my medicine, too. May I have some pudding? (Hope the sunprince feels better soon.)

My allergies are going nuts, and I’m tired of people. At least, in person. Virtual are still fine.

Tummy full. Big kabooms were NOT followed by power outages. Bing watched some Sopranos. Life is good.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 65 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 87 and mostly sunny (N.O.S.) for the day. Supposed to be rainy tomorrow and possibly Firday. We shall see.

I have a day of drivin’ ahead. Goin’ down to the southwest forty to do some monitorin’ as well as meet with a group of participants down there for some trainin’. This will pretty much take care of my irkday. ICK! Still it must be done.

OK, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. I need to be on the road by six-thirty this a. of m.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

I like Percy!

Just imagine calling out for the cat, what name would be the easiest and the least to freak out the neighbors??

Apparently I’m a complicated patient.

I went to the pharmacy for some decongestant, but alas! It should be the type that’s “for people who aren’t allergic” (since I’m officially not and actually the biggest brand names for those don’t work for me) and I wanted it in pill form, not the sachets which need to be dissolved, so it would be portable. “Damn, those all have ibu… hrm.” The pharmacist rummaged in a locked drawer and produced a generic, OTC med, which says it has paracetamol, pseudoephedrine and clorfenamine. Why would paracetamol be ok but ibuprophen not? And why is that particular OTC kept locked? Chi lo sa, but hey, I’ve got breathing pills.

**Spidey **- hope you can work it out! I just got word that a friend from my Navy days will be coming - we met in '73 or '74, so we go back a ways… No, she doesn’t know any dirty secrets about me. :stuck_out_tongue:

**Peaches **- we had a rescue Dalmatian named Pixel. We were told that they mellow after a few years. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! She was a very sweet dog, but so HIGH ENERGY!!! And if she escaped from the house or the yard, there was no way to catch her. In fact, that’s how we lost her - she managed to slip the harness we used to contain her in the back yard and we never saw her again. My fantasy is that she lived happily ever after on a big farm in the country. Reality is more like she got hit by a car or eaten by a gator (we were living in FL at the time.)

Good morning!! We had a few raindrops overnight, but not nearly enough. Theoretically, we’ll get about a quarter of an inch today - we shall see. I just finished a bowl of cereal - WHY must they sweeten so heavily? Frankly, I’d prefer sugarless flakes, but I definitely don’t like as much as they use. I need to buy bread so’s I can have my usual PB&J for breakfast tomorrow.

On the other hand, I had an almost complete night’s sleep! I woke once and threw off most of the covers, then woke a bit later and pulled the covers back on, and finally woke about 10 minutes before my alarm. So huzzah!!

That makes it a Happy Wednesday!

Actually I call it my “Itchy Nose” addiction…you know, Sinus Friction…

I’ll get me hat.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Bonus day off today, since I had to pull a double on Monday.

BLURFSurvived the Key Custodian inspection. Trying to catch up on online training. My computer is painfully slow or rather the network is. I did two trainings yesterday. One was EEO and boy was it boring. Today it is Cyber Awareness, OPSEC, and records management. Fun Fun.

Back to Dr today for last knee injections. Even funner than training.

Happy Hump Day!

It’s a cloudy 51 degrees today, supposed to get up to 61. This is after yesterday’s sunny 84 degrees.

Today is Keyboarding Final day. One down and three to go.

Outside of that, SSDD.

I watched the election results with Irish Storyteller until way too late last night. I’m glad there’s a primary break after next week. It can be tough living in the house with a political junkie. But it’s okay. Big Fat Durwood Cat flopped down next to me for belly skritches. He was** not happy** when I got tired of Trump rambling on and went back upstairs. His skritches got interrupted!
