I Have A Fever A Cowbell MMP

Maybe when school’s out I’ll have time to hang out more.

But, I do have good news, finally, it sounds like we will be closing on our house next week! Also, RT will be in town tomorrow and so we’re going to go pick up our marriage license while he’s home.

Congratulations.

I’ve not seen you here for a while, but I am inattentive.

Actually there is talk of a new SC and FC going up near Scranton and they are going to be looking for some good blocks to build from. I am tempted. But the OW ------ not so much so.

Late Night Blurf

At the risk of jinxing it - two good nights in a row!!! <happy dance> I did have a weird dream about being on a cruise ship with my parents (especially weird, because Dad died 14 years ago) and somewhere in the dream while we were in port, someone fell into the harbor… yeah, I heard the splash from inside the ship.

Anyway, swampy, last night, I was watching some neato shows on the Science channel about monster feats of engineering, the most impressive of which was the Millau Viaduct in France. I’m especially impressed with the workers who built it, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up there above the ground! So that’s why I wasn’t posting, if it’s any of your business. :stuck_out_tongue:

**sari **- our cat Ziva hides a lot - even after living here close to 7 years, but she’s gotten better. Last night, she leapt on my lap as I was watching TV! That’s a rarity for her, unlike Taz, who feels entitled to steal my body heat when I’m sitting, well, anywhere! Your stealth kitty will probably loosen up eventually. If not, at least the mices are gone!

We got a little (very little) rain overnight. Today is going to be quite cool, not that I notice, spending my days in a windowless office that’s always cold to me. The critters all go to the vet at 5:30 tonight - that should be fun. I’ve taken both cats together, but never with the dog, too. **FCD **and I will have our hands full, for sure!

Other than that, just another day in paradise. Happy Thursday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffeinated, purtified and brekkied so no YAWN. ‘Tis 71 Amurrkin out and foggy with a predicted high of 84 and tstorms later this mornin’ and afternoon. We shall see. I get to slack a little bit this mornin’ as I shall leave da cave around seven-thirty to head up to da burg first thing and then back to Albeeeeny where I have several places to go. I shall get all that out of the way this mornin’/early afternoon and then finish up at the orifice. This should keep me outta trouble today, I reckon.

Peaches yay on the a/c and allowin’ DH to live another day!

StickyBuns yay for house closin’ and impending nuptials!

OK, Ima log into irk and put in a couple of never endin’ case notes and then head out to da burg.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Drove in thru much rain this morning. So far, my CREO has crashed twice today. Does not bode well…

Strange feeling yesterday, triggered by one of my colleagues noting he would be out on Friday so Thursday would be our last day working together. For some reason, this hit me deeper than anything before this, brought the realization of what I am doing front and center. I wasn’t depressed or euphoric, just…deeply thoughtful, I guess, for several hours. Thinking back, I have been like that before whenever I have had a major life-change (taking a job, moving to a new location, etc.). Upshot is, I am ok with this change; it was time and I have internalized it now.

OK, so much for the navel-gazing…

Rain predicted for yesterday gave us a miss, but more is due this weekend, leaving me the decision of mowing my lawn on Firday or maybe having to wait until next week (Sunday is my usual mowing day). Will probably check the forecast tomorrow and decide then.

Temps are in the mid-80’s, so I am running my AC some, but it cools enough at night that I can still do without it. So at least 1-2 months with both low gas (heat) and electric (AC) bills–I hope.

Up and actively blurfing.

I want a cat…

Well, two better, I think, because on working days I’m out of the house for 10h just due to work; add any outside activities and yeah, better two.

But my current rental doesn’t accept animals (makes sense, given the damage the previous renter’s dog caused to the floor of several rooms) and anyway I’m still not sure I’ll be staying in this job.

Someday, I’ll have a cat.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Short late day of work today, and another day off tomorrow.

Nava, I like (non-psychotic) cats.

Sticky, congrats on the closing and licenses.

sari, all my cats have just lopped right on top of me, no hiding.

You’ll have better luck finding a unicorn than a non-psychotic cat. :stuck_out_tongue:

I disagree. Thrakazog and Bella were very non-psycho.
And would Unicorn Tears do?

Blurf

All cats are some little bit of crazy. Some just hide it better than others. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m sure I have oodles to say. It all escapes me at the moment. More after caffeine.

YIKES!

Day is dreary here once again. 42 currently but yesterday it was almost up to 60. Was nice enough.

Gotta get going so my body can warm up. Doesnt take much to get it (heated) up

:dubious:

I have a bipolar cat. She’s Samantha when she’s sweet and cuddly and Serena when she’s a psychotic hellbeast. Yesterday was a Serena day. When I went to pet her last night she grabbed my arm and kicked the shit out of it. And that’s how I discovered she’s lost another SoftPaw on her back foot.

Nah, Thrak was raised by [del]wolves[/del]beagles. He was “normal”

Kittehs are the kwaziest people!

The hamsters seem to be stable now…

Once again, settling into a different new rhythm of wound care, flushing DH’s PICC so it doesn’t clog, and changing the chemo IV bag every other day. So far, the biggest glitch has been that the infusion provider may have a batch of weak batteries as the batteries that are supposed to last for a two-day run are lasting about a day.

I was amused at a set of instructions for managing a PICC that came from the UK Health Service. After scrubbing yourself and the worksurface, and disinfecting this and that, and injecting the necessary things, and putting caps on the line(s) then giving the patient a pat on the head or a peck on the cheek, there’s a fair bit of trash. The UK instructions’ last line is to “tidy up after yourself.”

How perfectly British…
