I’m riling up the hell beasts/cats. I have to get up and there’s two of them on my lap.
Last day with son home, I hope. He’s had some crud, but I think he’ll be well enough to go to school tomorrow.
MIL arrives tonight.
Husband has been told to take 2 weeks off to see if that helps his wrists. He’s a programmer and has been getting treatment for wrist problems for about a year now, although it’s been a problem for much longer. He can hardly use his arms at all, so I hope this helps him. He is worried and down.
Doggio, I’ve never gotten an adult cat before, always kittens and most of them rescues.
I got Whiskey kitty shortly after getting Stormy. A friend found him in the alley behind her house. Kids had put a big pot over him and were banging on it with spoons. He was a very nervous cat around strangers but he was always clinging to me. He would sleep curled around my head and I had to hold my hand up by my head so he could suck my thumb until he fell asleep.
Stupid as hell though, he never could understand ‘last call’. Before I went to bed each night I’d open the door and say ‘last call’. Everybody who wanted in better come in, otherwise you were out for the night. All the dogs understood it, the other cat understood it. Not Whiskey, I’d go to bed and a half hour later he’d be hanging from the screen beating on the window to be let in.
None of my other cats were shy, with me or strangers.
Howdy Y’all! Day four of irk survived and tomorrow is irk from home day. YAY! Magic intartoobz pizza and bag sallit for dindin. Pizza is ordered and OYKW will pick it up on his way to da cave.
We had cats growin’ up but I’ve never had one livin’ on my own. Mom had a cat named Groucho (he had a stache) who was pretty cool. He wandered up to my folks house and decided he liked it there so he stayed. He liked to butt heads which was fun. He also chased away any stray dogs that wandered up. Weird cat, but cool.
Many years ago at the trailer in the woods, I had an orange cat named Dennis.
Once reading on the couch, I saw a tiny orange appendage banging on the screen door latch. He was out of sight on the porch railing, trying to open the screen door.
I thought the Martians were attacking.
Dindin has been ingested. ‘Twas good. OYKW suggested that we meet at the good local country cookin’ [del]hog trough[/del] buffet for N.O.L. tomorrow at around eleven-thirty in the a. of m. so as to avoid some of the crowd. Sounds good to me. If’n we eat there, then dindin will be forage if you’re hongry. They have catfish fillets on Firday. I do not intend to be hongry tomorrow night.
In other news, I gave in and turned on the a/c. It’s 83 Amurrkin out but with the heat index feels more like 89. Tstorms are still promised this evenin’. We shall see. Anywho, da cave is nice and cool.
Guess I jinxed us earlier. We had a **big **glitch today. Not sure yet exactly how big, but the visiting nurse goofed and accidentally gave DH an overdose of the chemo med. Waiting to hear back from the doc’s office if we just need “watchful waiting” or if we need to scoot to the nearest ER. So far, the thoughts seem to be towards keeping an eye on any possible adverse effects.
I had my follow up appointment today. It looks like there are issues in several disks. The PT folks are going to set up a treatment plan tomorrow. This could be an interesting summer.
I can’t believe it’s the last week of April and I had to restart the pellet stove!! It didn’t get out of the 60s today, and it’s dropping into the 40s overnight. Plus the rain - not too comfy in here.
The critters have all been shot, and it was an adventure. **FCD **got clawed by Ziva as we loaded her into the crate at home. Not a major wound, but still, owie! Taz was a real pill while we were there - he got to hissing and acting like he was going to attack me *and *the vet. He’s never acted like that. Once we got home, I bent to pet him, and he hissed and ran away! Altho he did come to me later for skritches, so I guess all is forgiven.
Ziva was a minor pain at the vet’s - she didn’t want to get out of her crate, and I ended up with a small bloody owie on my arm. But once out of her crate, she was all compliant, and afterwards, she climbed back in most willingly. Of course, back at home, she immediately bolted to hide under the bed. But they’re all fine and life is good.
{{{sunny}}} hope the meds calm down soon and you’re feelin’ better.
MOOOOOOM no mention of Higgs at the vet? Was she a perfect lil’ angel?
We shall now retire to the boudoir to watch teevee until sleepy time. I hear thunder rumbles in the distance so maybe we’ll get a tstorm and rain to go to sleep by.
Pretty much skipped dinner, just a snack or two, I had a big lunch so despite my extra poundage, I’m not all that hungry.
Rain is predicted starting Firday evening and going into Tuesday, so I’ll try to get home in time to mow the lawn before the weather arrives.
Got my car insurance bill, and I have to check but it seems to have gone up considerably, considering I haven’t had an accident in the past year and the car is getting older, I may need to check with some of the other places or go in and ask the agent WTH?
I’ve been having bad acid reflux lately, so I looked up possible causes, and it proceeded to list 90% of my current diet. Caffeine, soda, chocolate, cheese, and fried foods. Argh! I can’t give up those! It’d suck what little joy I get right out of my life!
