I heard somewhere that you should re-shop all your insurances every 6 months. That seems excessive, but shopping around every so often is probably a good idea.
I worked. I drove into a storm coming home. But I had an ambulance following me the whole way home, so there was that. Making Spanish chorizo, olives and tomatoes with spaghetti and paprika.

{{{{red}}}} Hope the PT works.
Moooommmm!!!, sounds like quite the adventure today.
Watchful waiting turned out to be largely uneventful. Despite that, we’ve told the service that we don’t want that nurse again.
Gotti, glad to hear DH is is doing ok. I don’t blame you for not wanting that nurse back, I know I wouldn’t if I were you.
And since it’s after midnight here
HAPPY FIRDAY!!!
Congratulations. Will want pics.
I’ve got a three day weekend May 1st is a national holiday, but this year it’s a Monday so we’re all taking May 2nd off. People from Madrid are a bit miffed, as they usually have May 2nd off while the rest of the country doesn’t (local holiday, anniversary of the May 2nd 1808 uprising); one advantage of having a holiday when your neighbors don’t is going shopping to the neighbors’ but this year they won’t have it.
Planning on going to Toro to see this year’s Ages of Man show.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeineatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 67 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 88 for the day and sunny. Also humid. It’s always humid. Today is irk from da cave day. I have a pile of case notes to enter plus, in spite of the fact that I shall be retired three months from today, some online trainin’. It’ll keep me off the streets, I reckon.
gotti glad DH is doin’ OK. I don’t blame y’all at all for not wantin’ that nurse again.
Metal Mouse happy retirement day!
OK, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then I shall purtify, not that I have to meet the public irk wise, but I will be meetin’ OYKW for N.O.L. and must look publicly presentable then.
Happy Firday Y’all!
In the office early. I was down to a single dollar in cash, so I decided I’d go to work via WaWa and get cash and a breakfast sammich. Their ATM was dead, dammit. I got breakfast, but I still have that lonely dollar. I’ll stop at the credit union on the way home, I guess.
It’s drizzly and gray out - looks like that’ll be the whole weekend, altho it’s not supposed to be rainy tomorrow morning. Our plan is to get out there, hack back all the stuff growing over the fence, and haul it to the landfill where they mulch up yard waste and give it away. I’m hoping it’ll only take about an hour, but that may be too optimistic. We shall see.
Taz was limping this morning - I wonder if he strained something while being a butt at the vet’s yesterday? We shall see. Ziva was all lovey-lovey this morning - she’s apparently forgiven me.
Happy Retirement, MetalMouse!!! Gee, what are you going to do for aggravation now? Around here, retirees go to McD’s for breakfast and hang around, shooting the breeze. Good times, good times.
Great fun for me today - I have to make models of two patterns that were made of the windshields of the T-44 trainer. I’m a bit suspicious since they’re not identical. I can’t imagine that the units were designed with slightly different windows for the pilot and the copilot. But I didn’t make the patterns - I’m just the flunky drafter… And if it turns out they’re really identical, they can build them as mirror images of each other by the way the material is inserted into the CNC router. So that should kill most of my day.
Onward! Happy Firday!!!
You mean this place isn’t agravating enough…?
I’ve never been a McD-hanger, so probably will start making a list of parts of the house to give a good cleaning to. That should occupy a couple of weeks. After that…we’ll have to see.
This will probably be my last communication from work, in about an hour I’ll go to the post location for turning in my CAC and get the last two signatures I need, then come back to my desk and do the last cleaning and sorting before departure.
And I have caught a cold to celebrate. Oh joy.
gotti, glad to hear that DH is Ok. Swampy, thanks for the good wishes.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. It’s 61 and drizzly, just wrong for a day off.
Happy Retirement Day, metalmouse!!!
And if you say “yes” to every neighbor, association, and charity wanting help on a project, you can be ten times busier than when you were working.
Glad DH is gonna be OK, gotti.

Happy Firday!
It’s another rainy, gloomy day.
Today is History final day. Then all that is left is astronomy.
He finally got graded on his History paper.
I feel bad, I proof read it and missed an error in - I guess you would call it - grammar and he lost a few points for that. Of course not really my fault, and he still got an A on it. But I feel stupid for missing it.
Happy Retirement MetalMouse
BLURF. I had a nightmare last night where I was strangling my ex, Loser Perdedor. There may be some lingering resentment from that relationship, four years after it ended.
**
Happy retirement, MetalMouse!**
Was the nightmare that he showed up, that you strangles him, or that you woke up before you finished the job?
I am soooooo bored! I input a pile of case notes so far this mornin’ and still have a pile to go. Plus I have a bunch of plans to review and update. Then there’s the useless online trainin’ I suppose I should get to at some point. Case notes and plans, are however, the priorities. However, in forty minutes I get to each N.O.L. at the good country [del]hog trough[/del] buffet place.
I am in online training Hell! i did one yesterday that is very sloooowwww to load. Took the better part of three hours and when I got to the point to print a certificate the computer froze. Nothing, nada. So I went home. This morning I go back to the same course and click resume and it started over from the beginning. ARRRRRR, GRRRRRRR.
Sure, I don’t have anything else to do. At least it is Firday.
Happy Retirement Metalmouse I am jealous. Enjoy.
Three anna half more hours till my weekend starts. Hope I can make it. I’m about to draw a 1" X 1" grid on a pattern, then take measurements so I can reproduce it. BORING!!!
It’s such a burden to be me…
I am officially stuffded. The [del]hog trough[/del] buffet was exceptionally good today. The only bad thing was that I had to walk past a steamin’ tray of  fart blossoms. This is gonna be a loooooooooooong afternoon of irk even if’n I am at da cave.
Will Swampy be at Mom’s social gathering?
It would be a trip if some of us brought slingshots and over boiled Brussels sprouts.
Just sayin’.
In case no one else mentions it, happy retirement MetalMouse!
It is currently 94° and the temperature is rising. Caffeinating with Diet Dr. Pepper, because I am outside right now. Will switch to coffee when I go back in, because the new air conditioners are working gloriously well. Supper looks like something quick with shrimp - maybe linguine and veggies and some fresh bread.
In other good news, The Boy’s financial aid confirmation came in today. Pell and scholarships are enough to cover all of his tuition, books, and fees, with a little bit left over. And we should hear back about 3 more smaller awards soon - one is just about guaranteed, and the others are good probability, so woot! (And I’m already test driving waterproof mascara, because based on my performance at his fifth grade graduation, I’m gonna need it!)
In other news, my garden and landscaping seem to be mostly alive, in spite of me. The roses are blooming like mad, and the fig tree is putting on nice green shoots. It’s all looking pretty nice, considering that the whole shebang is basically orphaned plants that found their way to my house.
Good deal.
