I have a new kitten-Help me name it.

This seems apropo.

I really do know how to spell that word. Really.

I like the name, but that’s far too much of a mouthful, and “Annie” doesn’t feel right.

“Princess Fluffy Mittens”

Cleo sounds nice at first, but then you might get “Ms. Cleo”.

And there’s the annoying little thing that Cleopatra wasn’t Black, but rather greek(maybe partially semetic).

That’s true. But, according to history, she had beautiful eyes. Just like your kitten.

How about ‘Mies[je]’?
‘Loes[je]’?
‘Lotje’?
‘Moortje’?
‘Juffrouw Jansen’?

She looks VERY like my Emmy 'cept that Emmy’s “dollop” is actually an exclamation point on her nose. Em is also a tuxedo cat and has a ‘racing stripe’ across her buns just under her tail.

My kitties are all named for awards:

Oscar (born the night of the Oscars '95 just as they were naming Best Actress.)
Emmy
Clio (commercial awards)
Agatha (mystery awards)

I’ve had a Newbery (Berry) and an Edgar (Eddiebutt) and my next kitty will most likely be Nebula (nebbie) or Caldecott (Callie) for girl kitties or Locus or Booker for boy kitties.

And if you like the name Her Royal Highness, the Grand Duchess Anastasia to be a good name but feel “annie” isn’t right…perhaps Stacie or Stasia or even Chess would work as a shortened version.

She is adorable though…more kitty pix please!

She’s adorable! What about Whimsy? I doubt she’ll outgrow that part of her personality, though it will be expressed differently as an adult.

Agh! Cute kitten alert! Must avoid clicking on links…

Well I did anyway, so I’m doomed for sure, and that is one seriously cute kitten.

I’m of the opinion that cats should be called Bob regardless of gender. I helped name my best friend’s Manx cat this - and her Bob is a girl. But I recently read a paper in which the student used odd punctuation so the character’s husband was named “Bob?”. Bob? is even better than Bob for a girl.

Well, sox is a sissy, but BOOTSIE, there’s a name to live with.

I have some other pictures, but they’re not nearly as good.

I can see if I can take some more and post them if you like.

If you like Lovecraft, how about Ulthar?

Well…I wouldn’t want anyone to overdose on cute kitty pictures…but…I am game!

G

She’s such a cute kitten! She reminds me of my Sophie. She’s gone now but we still have her sisters Chester and Twinkie.

Kit-Kat?

Mittens?

Queenie? (If anyone can get the obscure children’s musical reference, brownie points!)

Lana?

Lissa?

Helena?

Persephone?

Ariadne?

Trouble?

Precious? (Just so you could do the LOTR impression every time someone new comes to the house. Great way to scare off door-to-door salespeople, and you were just introducing the cat! insert halo here)

How about lunch or snack?

One of those goes to my next hairy being that gets free food and cleaning service, and showers me with disdain and contempt in return.

Or you could go with stupid or useless.

BTW, very cute kitten, whatever you name her

Actually, I did come up with Queenie before, but because I was qouting “Blackadder” to someone.

“Who’s Queen?”

Helena as well, because for some reason “St. Helena”(and Helen of Troy) came to mind for some reason.

For those that wanted to see more cute kitty pictures…

Niblet? That’s my cat whose name you purrrloined. Her sister is Winkler, and I also suggest Zipcode and Mouseproof.
