Okay, by “any” I mean one that isn’t sold out already, and one that isn’t in the postseason. I was given “Bomber Bucks” as a gift, which can be used to buy tickets to any home game, but I am only a casual fan and want to make sure I choose a good one.
Okay, by “good” I mean that I am more concerned with seeing a good game than I am with the Yankees necessarily winning. The two that I’d really like to see, the Red Sox and the Mets, seem to be sold out already. Any suggestions?
Looks like they play the Cubs middle of next month. I can think of worse teams to see than the Cubs and the Yankees (although personally, I wouldn’t want to see either.)
Actually, I take that back: I would want to see the Cubs if they were playing my Cardinals. Preferably first base side at Busch, but I’d settle for Wrigley tickets.
I am slightly prejudiced being from Minnesota, but I’d reccomend going to a game against the Twins. They have three games against them in July. I don’t know if Santana will pitch one of those, but I wouldn’t be surprized and then you’d have a chance to see a pretty good pitcher if he continues playing well which I think he will. He actually seems to get better later in the season so it could really be something to see. Plus it might be a preview of a playoff game because I think it’s either the Twins or the White Sox that are going to be the Central Division champs. The pattern in past years has been the White Sox starting strong but the Twins finishing strong to get the division title. So my recommendation is go to a game against the Twins with Santana pitching to see a great pitcher and a possible playoff preview.
If you want to see a good game, other than the Mets or Red Sox, go for another division rival, the Orioles. The California Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim California will be in New York at the end of July, that should be a good series. Also, depending on how far in advance you have to order the tickets, you could try to forecast the probable pitchers for the game, and try to see Randy Johnson. He hasn’t been great this year, but he will probably end up in the Hall of Fame. If all else fails, you can always look at the schedule to see if any special promotions/stadium giveaways are being held. You could end up with a free t-shirt.
