Some background: A year or two ago, New Jersey sanctioned a bear hunt in the northern part of the state. It seems a bear population explosion, coupled with overdevelopment, drove a number of bears to forage in people’s back yards.
This situation promped this conversation between my sister-in-law and myself:
SIL: Well, if they have to hunt them, I sure hope they do something good with them.
Me: Like what?
SIL: Well, they could donate the meat to homeless shelters. Can you eat bear meat?
Me: Yeah, I had it a few years ago.
SIL: How was it?
