No, I am not stark, raving mad. So in the thread where Young Rand wants some e-huggles, you will see this.
I wanted you to see this: “KITTEH PICS NOW!”
It did not work. I don’t know if the board is doing this, or if my browser is doing this. I tried a few versions of the post that says “ONCE.” I tried a bunch of combinations to see what would convert from caps lock to proper capitalization, and I think this is where we are:
- All caps - Converted
- One properly capitalized word, followed by all caps - Not converted
- One word only, containing four or less letters, in all caps - Not converted.
- One word only, containing five + letters, in all caps - Converted
That is all.
I think it’s the board. It won’t allow an all-caps post of five characters or more.

Edit: So that obviously didn’t work for me. I copied and pasted from xash’s post, and it converted to properly capped.
I’ll let the board guru’s figure it out, but my guess is it’s something with your browser. I’m using the latest version of FireFox here, FWIW.

The only way I’ve found to get by with an allcaps post is to include an invisible letter, usually i (since it’s the smallest). The code is:

We’ve got some wacky board technology here! I can see them converting from caps lock, but what’s the point of turning people into xash?
