I like Fallout and the Elder Scrolls games. Is Fable up my alley?

Note: Despite discussions here, I never did get a computer that could run Fallout 4. I am still running my 2012 laptop. It runs Fallout 3, New Vegas, Oblivion, Skyrim, and obviously anything before that. I own Fallout 4, but have to wait until I get a new laptop in the future.

Should I play Fable 3? Are the Fable games like Fallout and Elder Scrolls? Open world RPG’s where you explore and so forth?

If not, what should I play.

I do not think I can run Witcher 3, by the way. Played Breath of the Wild on my Wii U and loved it(it’s my top game of all time now).

I liked Fable 1 and Fable 2, but I wasn’t crazy about Fable 3. Seemed slow and repetitive.

Baldur’s Gate 1-2 and Neverwinter Nights are great RPGs, but there’s not a lot of open-world exploring. Can your system handle Far Cry 3?

If you liked Fallout, you might like Wasteland 2. But it’s not first-person.

Fable has much more railroading than Fallout/Elder Scrolls. It’s somewhat open world and character progression is pretty flexible but I felt forced to play the storyline quests much more.

That said I really like the Fable games, I played them all.

I played and loved Fable II and III before playing Skyrim. Skyrim blew me away. Going from Skryim to Fable III will feel like a step backwards. (But Fable III is fun.)
