I like my women -> ? Who is the next top waddle?

What can I say? I like women. (And yes, I do have a girlfriend at home who is quite happy with my appreciation of her.)

Tyra is on her show wearing the same suit - looking great. The famous photo IS an uncomplimentary angle. She also showed some pix in a different suit (white bikini) taken the same day (as the tabloid shot), in both she looked great though she did look better in one pose vs the other.

Brian
(oddly enough about the same height/weight as Tyra, though I’m a dude)

Tyra is a big fat hypocrite (pun intended). She talks a blue streak about being comfortable with her body, and the weight she’s at, but did you notice the magazine pictures?

Her hair is perfectly poised to cover her upper arms- one of the spots she said, in the article, look better when she’s skinny. She’s hiding her body with subtle photographic tricks while proclaiming how healthy and beautiful she is at a higher weight? I call BS. Everything’s a marketing ploy. Nothing that comes out of that woman’s mouth is the real deal.

Yes, and I suppose the fact that I wear a bra means I’m uncomfortable with my breasts in their natural state.

They weren’t going to take unflattering pictures of her in a photo shoot. They didn’t try to hide her weight, but they also didn’t purposefully draw attention to her less flattering features. They also put makeup on her, hiding her uneven skintone. It happens. I’m not going to call her a hypocrite over it, because few of us would want to highlight our worst features, even if we are by and large satisfied with our bodies.

Whatever. I think that I’m the hottest thing ever and I still put on lip gloss when I leave the house.

yeah, well, not when you want to make a point about how wonderful and beautiful a natural set of lips are, I imagine…

This is one of the most nonsensical posts I’ve ever read on here. Good job - that’s impressive.

Yeah I was a bit confused there too.

It’s simple - apparently if you’re comfortable with your body you’re supposed to traipse about completely naked all the time. I wonder if I’d still be allowed to shave my legs - or would that be hypocritical?

“Comfortable with your body” might mean you love every little thing about it, or that you love some parts and accept others. Everyone’s got certain outfits they look better in, favorite ways to style their hair to flatter their face… that’s not being uncomfortable with your body, it’s knowing how to put your best self out there and feel damn foxy doing it.

Guess **nongoog **has a different definition of comfort, or a killer bod.

I get the impression that nongoog has a loose grasp on reality, actually.

Ahh thanks for clearing that up Antigen. Clearly I was having a blonde moment!

I think you are right for the most part - I think comfortable with your body is exactly knowing what suits you and feeling good for the most part about the way that you look.

I have a very long bus ride to work - I’d probably end up scaring people if I traipsed around naked all the time! :stuck_out_tongue:

I think it’s amazing that no one else finds this is at least SLIGHTLY hypocritical.

look, I’m not saying she has to be naked, but maybe she shouldn’t obviously hide behind her hair when she’s screaming about how comfortable she is with her body?

Wow, so if I wear a bra, put on lip gloss and arrange myself in a photo so that one of my weak spots is behind my hair it means that I’m not comfortable with my body? Not plastic surgery. Not photo retouching. Not extensive costuming. Hair.

You have some very fanciful ideas. I think you’re just looking for a reason not to like her, which is fine, but pretending it’s because her hair is over her arms makes you look pathetic and sad.

if you want to call me pathetic and sad, please pit me, thanks. isn’t that what it’s for?

Male Chauvinist Pig brainwashed by the Mainstream Media checking in here.

For whatever reason I find thin girls attractive. I’m not convinced it’s healthy for all of these women, and it is bad news if they are bulimic. There is obvious anorexia, and I think the Spanish fashion show restricting models to those with a BMI higher than 18.5 makes sense. I mean, this is skinny.

I see model/actress types from LA strolling around town and some of them are anorexic, no doubt. Some of the non-speaking actresses on Entourage are anorexic.

However, I think it disingenuous for female adolescent health advocates to declare that thin actress/models are too thin. There are young women with self image and psychological problems that are starving themselves to death. This does not mean that a societal aesthetic for thin young woman is incorrect.

I think Tyra in a bikini looks fat at 160 pounds. Certainly, no runway model is packing that kind of weight. Part of it is familiarity with her previous svelte condition. She probably still looks fantastic in attire that is more forgiving.

I’ll go ahead and draw a line:

Calista Flockhart, Lara Flynn Boyle, too thin.
Keira Knightley, borderline.
Audrey Hepburn, fine.

From a practical perspective, it’s all a moot point as I’ve got no chance.

I can’t be arsed.

here’s my point: if you’re posing for an article in which you say you love your skin, don’t airbrush your picture. if you’re posing for an article in which you say you love your breasts, don’t use a push-up bra. and if you’re posing for an article in which you say you’re comfortable with your body, don’t hide it behind your hair. that’s all.

You’re like, 19, right?

Alice, get off my back.
