I’m from the government and I’m here with your MMP

That macaroni sounds good, swampy. I like to spice up my macaroni with ground beef and broccoli and mushrooms and spices, but maybe next time I’ll try adding peppers.

Sushi for me tonight. Yum.

OK, so we have an account on flickr now. HOW do I get the photos from there to here?
:smack: (preempting my stupidity)

here I am

I hope. This was taken in Dover, England. It was starting to rain and the kids and I were having a convo re baby turkeys and rain. So, they decided to BE baby turkeys and drown…

HOT DAMN! It works! As you can #1 son makes the best baby turkey; daughter is a close second, but #2 son is somewhat clueless as to technique. We are working with him–he is in remedial baby turkey drowing school.

I’m home, and my joints hurt. It’s 55 degrees Amurikin, I’m watching hockey, and having salmon, asparagus, and olive risotto for dinner.

Great news about Vwife, BBBobbio!! A beagle snoring in your ear is worse than a purring cat.

We’re always happy to give you a feel, Haze!

We bought a sink today! **FCD ** has been working on the vanity for the soon-to-be-remodeled blue bathroom, and he’s gotten to the point that it helps to have the sink. So we bought as sink-and-counter all in one - 37X22 in faux marble. The cabinet is being made in walnut. It’s gonna be purty!

Plus we got a $10 off card from Lowe’s, so we saved a little bit.

I’ve been a bum otherwise. Just haven’t felt like doing anything, so I’m not. We’ve got yard work and other work tomorrow, so I’ll enjoy my lazy tonight.

that link says it’s to a private account. Somehow you have to make your pics/album public then give us a new url

speaking of url’s someone has too much time on his hands

I’ll be back later to reread and comment more fully

Hmmmm…try this.

tryagain

Can someone tell me if it works? It works for me…

I cannot seem to transfer pics from my iPhoto to flickr, though. I even downloaded some damned thing for Mac OS etc. Nothing happens. I hate technology. I have no patience for it.

I hate this! It tells me drag and drop–OK. So I do. and all I get is a HUGE jpg.

I want my pics that in iPhoto to be in flickr. Thousands of people do this every day–why not me? Mindfield, where are you? please help

yup it worked that time

Brrrr! It was below freezing when I left for work this morning, not long after 9! And it wasn’t just me, I was told by various people that it was definitely cold.

It’s been a hell of a week; we have no bathers now, just me, a coworker, and The Boss. Trying to get everything that needs to get done done is…not fun. And most of the people she’d be looking to hire are out of the country; there’s a lot of people from various southerly countries working up here who go back this time every year to visit and to renew their visas or whatever. They’ll all be back in a few weeks, but until then, it’s really hard to find people to help. It’s really frustrating because I feel totally overwhelmed, and I don’t handle that well.

But it’s now a weekend, and I get an extra hour tomorrow night, and the bills are paid so all is otherwise well. But it’s definitely time to crack that bottle of wine I bought myself yesterday. Oh, my, yes.

Appropriate hugs, congrats, and sorries to all and sundry.

all caught up (at least this page ;))

yay for VWife making it to second gear with her recovery. I think I’m close to third gear myself, I go to start down the stairs without the crutch - which would be fine inside the house - I’ve got the railing that follows the stairs on one side and the one that keep the living room from falling onto the steps on the other side - but outside the upper part of the stoop is too wide for me to grab both railings simultaneously. I think I need to go outside and on the lower 4 steps, where there is reachable railing on both sides, and work on freeing myself from the crutch. Maybe tomorrow afternoon, if it isn’t too cold.
Heh
Monday morning, as I left for work, I did start down the stairs without the crutch (did I tell you all this already?) I took one step down, realized something was wrong, became aware that I did not have my crutch. Ah, thought I, I’ll just back up - I lifted my right foot onto the main part of the floor and tried to raise my body to follow it. Nope. not enough strength in my leg muscles, I guess. I ended up sitting on the floor, legs down the stairs. I went down slowly so I didn’t bruise my tailbone (which I’ve done in the past - not fun) and I sat there,'d at myself, and tried three times before I managed to pull myself onto my feet again (this time with the crutch in hand) So I figured I wasn’t ready yet. But I had a good session at PT tonight so maybe I’m getting closer.

purring cats in bed is a wonderful thing indeed. Smokey’s latest thing is to sleep on my sternum, which is fine, if she flops away from my face. But sometimes she flops into my face, so I have cat hair tickling my face all night. and forget trying to move her - she comes right back. she’s my pretty kitty and she can sleep anywhere she wants.

I love that pic, rigs! I think it’s going to depend on how new your version of iPhoto is. You might be able to just browse the pics in your library folders and upload them. I have an older version and generally wind up copying from iPhoto into Finder and then uploading from there.

Sorry you’re so stressed, snowbunny. I was wondering where you’d been.

Forgot to comment on the dancing condoms. Those were great! But, yeah, you’d never see that on U.S. TV.

I’ve got a bunch of stuff for my White Elephantee. I think I’m going to have to get a box at the post office in the morning.

GT

What antidepressant did the doctor give you, SCL?

Damn. There was something else that I wanted to comment on and I’ve forgotten what it is.

I think the MMP needs a new slogan. Something relating how damn hard it is to keep up and then to remember all the things that you wanted to say.

Today was a so-so day. I had an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic and they increased my anti-depressant. Then I had a fight with my mom when I got home. That kind of sucked. But I did my best to explain my side of things and that’s all that I can do. Right now I’m just sitting here relaxing, watching (and playing) in the Party thread as it goes by. Tomorrow is my grandpa’s birthday. He’ll be 79! So I decided to stay in town (instead of heading to my BF’s house) tonight.

Right now I’m chatting with a friend online trying to talk him into joining the SDMB. Maybe you all can send a few kind words his way and I’ll send him a link. Let’s call him Rainman for now.

I like weekends.

Dinner was just a sammich with cream of broccoli soup with cheese. T’was good.

Rigs - I’m afraid the only thing I know about iPhoto is how to spell it. But if it works like most of the rest of the image library programs, then those pics are probably stored in a specific place on the hard drive (I’ve no idea if the Mac has any sort of standard place for such things, and I don’t know the default directory structure anyway) – I’m sure there must be a file find function in Finder where you can search for a filename or something. Once you find them you should just be able to log into Flickr and upload the files from that location. (I don’t know much about Flickr either, but image hosts work very much alike so that probably doesn’t matter.)

If the problem is resizing them – doesn’t Flickr do that by itself? I’m used to Photobucket and you can choose sizes when you upload. I’m pretty sure iPhoto can resize, too – it has some basic photo editing functions, doesn’t it?

For what it’s worth I saw the one image you linked to just fine. I’m not sure I get the drowning baby turkey reference there though.

Swampbeer - What? No third shift? But you love it so.

VBob - Oh, I see now. Ralph hasn’t put you into the proper hierarchy just yet. I’m sure he’s still acclimating and learning the lay of the land before he begins sending out the alpha waves that will bring you under his control. Soon. Soon.

He has joined! He’s **rainman<8) **
Hooray!

Many thanks to anyrose for her help with the sales pitch. (I didn’t tell him about the squidding, though) :stuck_out_tongue:

Definitely needs a squidding. Definitely.

I forgot to say I loved the singing and dancing condoms.

I’ve been around, I just haven’t been posting for some reason. Maybe the stress. I mean, it’s a neverending job under normal circumstances, but right now, it’s even worse. Still, any parts of the shop anybody but us would see (and most of the rest of it as well) look at least okay. I forgot to say we’re down our one bather (until the others either get back or we find replacements or probably both) because the guy worked for a week and a half and then yesterday decided to simply not show up and not call either. Quitting isn’t a heinous act in and of itself, but he chose the stupid and cowardly way to do it.

Oh well. I don’t need to worry about it right now. Maybe I should watch the condoms again, they’re funny.

obligaswtory durnken post! Clloud Maidne and I went out with sime friends to have som sushi, then she went home wile I hung out with our friends and got drunk. Good times. We had an entire debate about the Phelps fmaily. I realized how much of an Internest junkie I am - or maybe it’s just being on these boards - a lot of my friends had just recently heard about the Phelps through 20/20, but I feel like I hear something abot them every week.

rigs, for some reason I pcitured you as dark-haored. But I love the pic!

**Rigs **-- unlike **Haze **I had no mental picture of you before; I must say you’re looking good for a self-described old, decrepit and squishy woman!
As for the pictures, I’ll second Mork’s observation – the jpegs you have on the Mac probably are huge (mine tend to be like that, and I’m on Windows – I think it has more to do with the Camera-computer synchronization software). What you need is a way to reduce them in size. I’m on Flickr too, and never had any problems – it should happen automatically – but I’ll look around there and see if there are any manual options in case the automatic ones don’t work.

**SnowBunny **-- what, no Obligatory Drunken Post after that bottle of wine?
Hope the stress levels there do get lower soon, though. I know what it’s like to be short-handed and always feel nothing is getting done properly :frowning: hang in there.

**Purple **-- we won’t believe in The Rainman until he posts here. I’d say you should tell him we said so, but I refuse to acknowledge he exists, yet!

**Shadow **-- glad the meds are working better. And congrats on moving to full employee!!

Haze, **Rosie **-- just throwing your names in to make the post all colorful  How you doin’?

Up and caffeinating. I’m going to a hockey tailgate after work.

rigs, Hellllooooooo nurse!

GOOD MORNING Haze!!!

We’re feeling the winds from Hurricane Noel (is it still a hurricane?) and that makes the 40-some degrees outside feel even colder. When I came in from turning the dogs loose in the yard, Miss Brandy had planted herself up against the heat vent in the dining room. She does *not * like the cold!

I’m not exactly sure what the plans for today are. It’s FCD’s b-day (51) and I haven’t been able to find anything special to do. But he doesn’t seem to care - I think the persistent neck pain just wears on him. So we’ll probably just go out to dinner. Maybe I’ll take him to the fancy French place in Leonardtown. It’s a tad pricy, but what the heck. Or maybe I’ll look up waterfront restaurants - I think he’d like that more, and I think there’s one on St. George Island that we’d discussed trying. Must research…

We were going to do leaf raking/mulching/sucking/dumping, but not as long as the wind is high. No sense in taking one swipe with the mower/mulcher/sucker only to have it immediately get covered over with more leaves. So maybe tomorrow. We’ll be better rested anyway - what with the extra hour we’re getting tonight. (Don’t forget to Fall Back tonight if you live in a time zone/state where it applies!)

Happy Saturday, all!

so? where is he?
