**Purp ** - our lunches were whatever we went to get. There was a snack bar in the building that made pretty good sammiches. A short walk away, another building had a rather nice cafeteria and I ate there a couple of times. There were also several restaurants within a couple of miles.
**toadspittle ** - Calm? Yeah, on the working level, I’d think so, once the initial emotional reaction (whatever it may be) passes. As for CYA - perhaps this is cynical of me, but I fear that happens at a higher level. Worker bees are concerned with finding an answer and doing a job, while administrators and politicians seem to worry more about appearances.
**rigs ** - I’ve been in more than my share of worthless and non-productive meetings, but thankfully, not last week.
**BelZ ** - the networking opportunity was certainly one of the high points for me. Especially when it comes to things that you don’t know you don’t know, ya know?
**MamaTigs ** - I know what you mean about the uniform determining the answer sometimes. Wish I knew the answer to that dilemma.
**rosie ** - after the first day, we had a social gathering at a local country club. It was a “no-host” event, meaning cash bar. They told us there would be munchies. Yep, one whole tray of meatballs. I was impressed. I did get a chance to chat with a number of folks, including some who were on the other team, so it was a nice evening.
So, I’m home. Tomorrow I get to drive to Balto for FCD’s 11:00 appointment with his surgeon for followup. We’ll leave really early and stop for breakfast somewhere along the way. Then when he’s done, turns out our route home brings us right past the clay supply store, so I foresee an exit from the expressway. It’ll make for a seemingly shorter week, too, so that’s good.
Oh yeah, and it was in the 30s this morning when I took the doggies out. BRRRR! Even now, the heat is coming on to maintain the house at 66. Quite a change from the almost-90 degrees I had last week.
