Grrr. My mail wasn’t picked up again. He actually placed my incoming mail on **top **of the outgoing mail. This happened before, a while back, but it was only one day, not two in a row. I know it’s raining, but I am the last house on the route, he parks his truck right next to my house, and it’s not that far. Actually, it’s probably a sub, so mail service will resume as usual next week, no doubt. It’s surprisingly hard to reach an actual person at the USPS, but I persevered and reached a supremely uninterested fellow in a call center. When did post offices get unlisted numbers, anyway?
I’m nervous about my doctor’s appointment tomorrow to look at my suspicious mole, so good thoughts are appreciated.
WELL. NOW I’m pissed that Haze DIDN’T grope me! I can no longer claim to be a rational human being.
And she does too snore. But they’re little cute Korean-American snore. Very polite.
(for some reason that just cracks me up; go ahead, call me Pacific rim-ist!)
I’m wasting time again online. I’m good at that. I need to work on #2 son’s Halloween costume, but Iive decided to dedicate tomorrow morning to that.
Hugs where needed.
If you dig around online, you might be able to find the number for your local post office, Shadow. I had a complaint not too long ago, and managed to get hold of the number for mine. The person I got hold of, unlike the idiots at the call centers, was actually helpful – checked things out and called me back, twice! So go for it. Even if it’s a sub, they should still pick up the outgoing mail. (That’s the only thing I like about our box out by the street – it has a flag, so they can’t pretend they didn’t notice the outgoing mail!)
Is it bedtime yet? I’m sitting here yawning my head off. It’s way too early for me to go to bed, too, at least if you pay attention to how late I got up this morning. Maybe I should just crawl under with Haze and Rigs; that sounds like a good way to spend the evening. And unlike Haze, I don’t hardly ever snore! :dubious:
home and tired. got company tomorrow, one of those higher ups who like pretty shiny things more than sales. Probably get reamed, but oh well.
From last MMP: Mama Tigs, It’s not lack of exercise that’s doing it, it’s more of unending exercise(i.e. work) that’s giving me arthritis. Speaking of old, I need a shave. I can see my ear hairs
Olive is so funny. I was teasing her with the laser pointer for a bit; then got bored and started grading papers. The Red Dot was on my blanket right before I turned the pointer off. Now Olive is convinced that the Red Dot is hiding in the folds of the blanket. She has her head burrowed in there, determined to flush it out from its lair. Silly cat.
That was a great OP, FCM, and sounds like something I would truly enjoy as well as be honored to be a participant.
We gummint workers, are, for the most part, hard workers and eager to find solutions. Most importantly, we’re eager to make sure our customers are well taken care of, whether they be “the public”, or in-house.
Work was okay, although I felt sort of… I don’t know…irritable. I didn’t take it out on anyone, but I had a slightly more difficult time remaining pleasant, upbeat, and positive. I usually get very quiet and concentrate on doing my work.
Frankly, I should be working on my contributions for the year, along with my support form/objectives for the upcoming year. I brought my laptop home, but just couldn’t get into it tonight. I’ll have to really push it tomorrow. I’m usually done with this kind of stuff early. Just not feeling it, I guess.
I think I’m going zone out on the television for just a bit. Hugs to all.
Shadow, good luck with your doctors’ appointment today. I have one too, but it’s just a grrrrr sort of thing. My doctor won’t prescribe more Restless Leg medicine unless I go in and give him 20 bucks.
Well, thanks to all for the hugs. Most of the rest of yesterday continued to suck. After taking a nap I woke up with a migraine! Thankfully, it’s gone now.
Got some strange news at the vet, our youngest dog, Gizmo has a touch of arthritis in his right rear hip. He’s only 3 1/2. It’s nothing serious yet, but still he seems kind of young for this.
Today is doctor and hospital day in general, I guess. I have to take my mom to the hospital for a nerve block this morning.
Not too much to look forward to today. I feel very crabby and like crying some more. Mostly I feel like I’m letting my employees down by not being able to make it into work. Ugh. I promise I’ll try not to rain on anyone’s parade anymore today.
Happy Tuesday.
On Edit, don’t worry, on Friday they can increase the amount of anti-depressant that I’m taking. I’m not always like this, honest.
CookieKid - this is the place where you can come and vent, whine, moan, be miserable, be happy, be whatever you want. Or so they tell me. Is that because I’m supposed to be the entertainment?
SCL - glad the new job is going well, I’m sure the kitties will adapt to your absence and compensate by sleeping all day until you’re around to play with them. That’s what ours do, they get very excited when the weekend comes and their playthings/pillows are around all the time.
Doggio - you have work-induced arthritis? The cure is obvious!
Shadow - now that you’re nicknamed after one of my cats, I will forever see you as a slinky feline! Good luck at the doc’s, will be thinking of you and hoping it’s good news.
I am spending the day doing stuff for golf students. Bah. How silly is that?
Anyways, I am still sharing my house with hubby, baby and my parents. That is two people too many, and I know which two will be leaving tomorrow night!
taxi, no word yet on a new job. Believe me, you will hear as soon as I get that sort of happy news!
Radio silence from MIL today (thank Og), or I really would throttle her. I still have LiLi’s packet of teeny-tiny ninjas saved up for a “rainy day”. Just add water, right LiLi?
Well, off to finish feeding hubby his lunch and sort out some afternoon snacks for HRH. Hugs, boos, yays and awws all 'round as appropriate, specially for all the people suffering with Teh Sick[sup]TM[/sup], bionic adjustments or other afflictions.
Vertical and ventilating today. VWife was asleep when I stopped by the horsepistol this morning. Ralph is going to be rechristened Hemorrhoid very soon.
Rigs, Tigs, and Haze, y’all are getting me twitterpated…
Not so much great about the pain, I mean. But you get what I’m saying.
I think I broke one or two toes last night. I stayed up until midnight working on a jigsaw puzzle, turned off all the lights and headed to bed. BUt I misjudged where the washstand by the hallway was, and, well, you can imagine the rest. At least I didn’t yell when it happened. I just clamped my mouth shut and groaned.
Why, yes–you ARE the entertainment. When does the show begin? And just what does your act involve? (if it’s dancing dogs or accordian music, I am so out of here…)
I am feeling somewhat better today, but drippy. Class today for 4 hours–JOY!
Must do Halloween costume this morning or kid will have to go incognito.
Husband kept me up (waking me up) most of the night–not on purpose–because he couldn’t sleep. He kept getting up etc. So, I’m tired as he is, but I could sleep. <ponders separate beds, no room for that>
Everyone cheer up. Or not. Feel better sickies.
It’s an all-day performance over here, laugh a minute (if you like golf students). Other than that, I can manage a bit of juggling and a bit of fire-breathing with a few other stunts thrown in. Depends how much I can manage with limited props!
Can you fire breathe ON the golf students? (please?)
You can major in golf? GOLF? What must the exams be like? Brutal, I’m sure: name Jack Nicholson’s favorite color. Why couldn’t Tiger Woods play at <insert name of racist gold course here>? If you’re tipsy at hole 8, what are your chances of an eagle on the back nine?
I’m with Josephine Tey on this one: chasing a bit of gutta-percha* around is a waste of a day.
*golf balls used to be of this. No, I don’t know what it is. YOU go look it up. Sheesh.
Rigs, I would love to breathe fire on the golf students but they won’t let me. It’s just not fair! stamps foot
Yes, we have several golf qualifications including a foundation degree, qualifications in golf studies and golf management. I think there were also plans for a qualification in how to run a golf tournament but that never quite made it.
Gutta percha is a kind of gum, from Malaysia (I think). Don’t ask me how I know this, must have been hanging around the golf students for too long!
Awake. Caffeinating. Chilly. Good Ship Pronoun sunk. Loss of all hands. Strange metaphors spontaneously appear.
Halloween is tomorrow. I’m not doing anything for it really; being an Apartment dweller where kids all just go to the central party room to collect the goodies means we won’t have to attend to the door every few minutes or dress up in costumes. If we had a house though I’d probably be tempted to go all out with some kind of mess-your-pants scary scene with spooky lighting (floodlights behind fish tanks of water, ala Poltergeist, fog machine, that sort of stuff) and then go all Tom Savini with the bloody makeup and dismembered limbs and the like. I’d probably leave mental scars on the poor tots and they’d never want to return, so perhaps it’s for the best that we don’t have a house.
After that, the Canadian yuletide season starts in earnest. Wee! (I don’t think you Murikans really think much about Christmas 'til after Thanksgiving, do you?) I am apparently one of those strange people that’s looking forward to it.
Hank - There’s never a bad time for dirty jokes. Except at job interviews. Unless the interviewer starts it. And those family meetings with that Aunt Doris who shattered her funny bone and now becomes puffed up and indignant at the slightest hint of scandalous behaviour and refuses to drive a manual transmission because the shifter is far too much like handling a you-know-what and that’s just rude.
But otherwise crack as wise as you please.
Wise. I said wise.
BooFae - Huh. I’ll be damned. A fire-breathing faerie.
I wasn’t sure if I had missed any announcements because I never get to read on the weekends. So I miss all kinds of stuff. We need a recap on Monday mornings of the last week’s MMP.
I was at work until almost 7 last night so I think I’m going to take a loooooong lunch today, especially since it’s gorgeous out and probably one of the last nice days before winter.
