And a further question: is there any way this can be set up so that when we’re quoting posts, we can actually see and/or edit what we’re quoting? I just quoted Askia in CS but was only replying to two sentences in his post and had to quote his entire post instead of just the relevant part.
I don’t mean to be a nuisance obviously… I’m just curious if these options are feasible. If not, I’m so used to not using this function that it won’t bother me to just minimize it and do it the old way.
IIRC, with the old “quick reply” feature, you couldn’t include quotes at all (unless you typed in the tags and c&p’d the text yourself.) If you wanted to include a quote, you had to go to the regular reply screen.
Yeah, that’s how it was and it didn’t bother me then, not being used to the normal reply screen. Now that I’ve gotten accustomed to it, it’s something I’d miss.
It’s of no real importance though. If it can’t be fixed, I’m perfectly happy to just ignore the new feature.
I didn’t really mean it harshly. I was being sarcastic about the habit of ‘testing’ a feature so many times. We are really just playing with our new toy, nothing wrong with that. (as long as it doesn’t bring about the bandwidth problems mentioned)
You can pick and choose when to use it. On this one, since I knew I wanted to cut your post instead of quoting the whole thing, I did the old-fashioned “reply.” The other button is just to get you into quick reply.
Test; I tried it before and couldn’t send. I justgot a box that said “undefined”. Huh?
and what does “outdent back to normal” mean?
I got the “undefined” box by trying to post after the last post in the thread.
