These commercials were awesome. I was hoping that Amazon would revitalize them this year. They haven’t, to my knowledge.
I miss the old Television-Tape effect, the inexplicable male chorus, the misaligned superimposed lyrics, and the dry wit of said lyrics. Best Christmas commercials ever.
Anybody out there in a position to pull some strings so that a few of the old ones may be shown?

Every year around this time, one of their old jingles comes back to me: “Amazon.com has tons of toys / Every ton is two-thousand pounds / That’s a lot of toys!”
I loved that old-early-60s-ish videotape effect, too. In-f’ing-genius.

I wasn’t able to find a video during a brief search. About a year ago, I saw a source for videos, but it was a pay-to-play advertising archive.
