I Pit "Cafe Society" people

You’re quite mad, you know.

Trader Joe’s ketchup for the win. Much less sweet than Heinz or Hunts; more like name brand ketchup was 50 years ago.

I don’t much care about the “organic” part. I just want it to be more vinegar tangy than sugary.

ETA: Looking at this preview, it’d be extra cool if it really came in that weird-shaped pot. Sadly, it does not; that’s just a badly distorted pic of a conventional bottle.

I like Heinz chili sauce too… in chili (sometimes).
There is/was a place, Clyde’s aka Old Ebbitt in Wash DC that serves chili-- and half the recipe is Heinz chili sauce.

Good to know. We usually buy Heinz because we always do, but it usually expires before we use it up. I just don’t care for ketchup that much due to the sweetness. But if TJs is tangier and less sweet, I’ll have to get it next time we go.

I like it, too. Oddly, because it’s a bit sweet. But it’s not a condiment I use often. It has a limited number of specific applications.

Heinz chili sauce is great stuff.
Perfect on hashbrowns.

I like mayo with my hashbrowns and french fries.

I got this far and am disappointed to see not a single mention of Rubenesque women.

With enough mayo on enough hashbrowns and french fries, nearly any woman can be transformed into Rubenesque. I’m not sure what the corresponding male term is besides maybe lardass, but enough mayo on enough potatoes will do that to a guy just as readily.

Mayo and chili crisp oil is the secret sauce.

Yet another reason why I like you.

Yeah, I think that’s it.

My recollection of Heinz Chili Sauce is it’s less sweet than ketchup. Are you thinking of this stuff?

Have you tried the “No sugar added” one? I prefer that one as I do try to avoid sugar.

It does have Sucralose. It might taste as sweet as regular ketchup.

“Tomato Concentrate From Red Ripe Tomatoes, Distilled Vinegar, Salt, Natural Flavoring, Onion Powder, *Sucralose, Spice. *Not In Regular Ketchup.”

(From the amazon page.)

Yes, but it is not really sugar, it is completely calorie-free, now some (mostly from contrarian sources) have concerns for long term use, so I recommend to use it with moderation.

The best ketchup I ever had was from a restaurant that made their own. If I could have drank it, or eaten it as soup, I would have. I’ve had other boutique ketchups like Portland, but this was much better. I keep thinking maybe someday I’ll make my own, but thats probably not going to happen.

This is me, too. I haven’t tried the other two and probably won’t because I lack FOMO and because if they’re significantly different from Hellman’s I probably wouldn’t like them.

As for the OP, his first post is incoherent and after several other posts I still have no idea what the hell he wants, except apparently to start a fight for some reason. As for sagely informing us that we’re supposed to not like Hellman’s, he can fuck right off.

Home made catsup is way way too much trouble, takes bazillion tomatoes, and hours stirring.

I bet your restuarant started with canned tomato paste. Not saying that wouldn’t be good. But real home made a restaurant wouldn’t have time to do

Agreed. I think it was mostly canned crushed tomatoes or whole canned tomatoes with some tomato paste. The final product still had some slightly chunky pieces.

Old recipe books have recipes for ketchup with a mushroom base - no tomato.

And, of course, the Philippines has Banana Ketchup, which surprisingly doesn’t taste much like anything at all. Definitely not bananas.

I’m I the only one who dyslexified this into “cock ring?”

We buy “Simply Heinz” because that’s what my wife prefers and I frankly don’t care.
