I love how the Parkland kids are drawing out these reprehensible vermin from under the rocks and the foul crevices that they inhabit and making them reveal themselves to the world as the filth that they are. Only about 60% of millennials are white, so about 30% of them are white men. Generally the ‘alt right’ (which is just a nice name for fascist white supremecists) consists of white men. Women and non-whites aren’t allowed.
What % of that 30% are actually alt-right? Probably less than a third, I’d hope. So hopefully at worst only 10% of millennials are alt right types.
Anyway, I disagree. Generally when someone has insane right wing political beliefs it is a reasonably safe bet that they are white and over age 50 (and more likely a man than a woman). Not all white people over 50 are bad by any measure (I know tons of good people who fit that demographic). But most insane, irrational people tend to fall into that group.
I would guess they just can’t handle multiculturalism. It literally drove them nuts.
Call it ‘stupidity’ all you want, doesn’t change the fact that for the most part it is older white people who have gone over the edge into moral and intellectual bankruptcy in America. It isn’t black women in their 20s who are attacking children for being victims of violence or pushing for fascism. The stupidity at root stems from older white people and their inability to accept multiculturalism. They feel America is meant to be a white, native born christian patriarchy and each year America becomes browner, more secular, filled with immigrants and more feminist. They’ve abandoned all morals and principles to resuscitate America’s historic image where they were on top.

I don’t dispute that the over-50 white male demographic was the dominant factor in getting Trump elected, but this isn’t the same as looking at the future of the alt right in American politics. Many if not most of the founders and leaders of extremist alt-right movements are millennials or close to it – Richard Spencer, Greg Johnson, Matthew Heimbach, Mike Peinovich, and many others. And their movements are growing in an environment where – with the blessing of the Supreme Court – money can buy public opinion and truth has become so irrelevant that there is now a president of the USA who just makes things up with complete impunity and faces no consequences for it; basically anything that Trump ever says that happens to be correct is pure coincidence. In a truly Orwellian perversion of language, the legitimate media is now being called “fake news”.
