See, we’re reading this differently. You’re reading it that she was getting her ass beat. I’m reading it that she was kicking ass, possibly up to and including the day when a thug was hired. Anyway, regardless of how it actually happened, it seriously isn’t good. I’ve dropped a male coworker in hot water for making a female coworker uncomfortable, and I’d like to think I could do the same for a female employee with an asshole customer.

Bosstone, his very action in coming back the first thing the next morning, wanting to know why he didn’t call, is the physical behaviour equivalent of “yelling”. It’s beyond tone-deaf of him. Maybe Broomstick, wanted to rant and sounded “annoyed” but I’ll bet dollars to donuts her annoyance is a factor of at least some fear of this.
