I have a wonderful relationship with a beautiful woman who has two kids and a real piece of work ex-husband. This guy choked her out in the front yard to the point where a concerned neighbor called the cops and then attempted to intervene because he thought she was facing imminent life threatening harm. Oh yeah, chucklehead did this IN FRONT OF HIS KIDS. He even went so far as to throw his son off of her when the kid was trying to protect his mom. Yes, he is out on bond awaiting trial, no, he has no idea where we live. Anyway, my SO tries to be the best mother she can be, and felt that keeping her sprog from their sperm donor would have a negative psychological effect on them. Therefore, against recommendation, she has been allowing them to spend weekends with their father. Today, we discovered that he has been taking them to his Scientology…services…meetings…audits, fuck, I don’t even know what to call their group bilking sessions. Sweet merciful fuck. I mean I knew the guy was unstable, uneducated, lazy (he only had a job long enough to requalify for unemployment benefits while they were married, or 3 months in 6 years,) and possibly mildly retarded. Now, I get to add gullible to that list of his better attributes. For fuck’s sake, I don’t care what he wants to do or believe in his own time, but he really shouldn’t be exposing his kids to that over-glorified sci-fi bullshit. Fuck him, fuck scientologists, fuck scientology. is it wrong of me to want to strap him down to a chair and force him to watch Battlefield Earth continuously for days on end?
I’d worry that the guy might sue to get custody of the kids on the grounds that your SO isn’t a clear and thus not a good mother. And have the resources of that cult behind him. I have a friend whose brother was high up in the organization. He was ordered to break off contact with his parents, the kids grandparents, which he did willingly.
good luck to him in Texas on the lawsuit. Texas doesn’t like giving kids to the father, especially not when Daddy is staring down the barrel of a slam dunk felony assault case. Especially not when the CPS case worker doesn’t want him anywhere near the kids. Anyway, he is still a ‘pre-clear.’ I don’t think the Hubbardists (or would it be Hubbsurdists?) have his back completely, yet.
Are the kids visits with him supervised? How old are the kids? If I were one of his kids, I would be afraid he’d flip out on me like he did my mom. Did she ask the kids if they want to spend time with dear old Dad?
As for his religiion (if you want to call it that) hopefully the kids are old enough to decide for themselves that it’s a load of crap. Since I’m not Christian myself, I find if difficult to judge someone for their choice in regards to spiritual enlighenment, even if I happen to think their choice is bad science fiction.
And since this is the Pit - fuck him sideways with a red-hot crowbar for 1) using violence against his wife and 2) doing it in front of his kids.
So, what exactly goes on in Scientology Sunday School?
Teach them how to jump on couches, give handjobs to closeted celebrities - you know, the usual.

dude, you just alleviated much of my bad mood. Thank you.
How long does the COS keep members around who have no money to give them?
As a mom, I can’t imagine sending my kids to spend time with someone who physically assaulted me, even if it is their father. I can see her point though. My ex did some pretty shitty things to me, but I’ve always tried to have my kids maintain a good relationship with him.
I don’t know much about Scientology, but I hope the aliens come to take him and fully explore him with their anal probes!
The kids do want to see their father and it is a rather difficult situation because they are quite young (7 and 8). Right now they are extremely upset that he has become a republican and they haven’t mentioned Scientology.
Mind you while we were married he was an atheist, but he was raised Jehovah Witness. Basically, I married him in in a hormonally induced state of madness (I had just had my son)…
I don’t judge others as well- after all I am an anthropologist and I have a great amount of respect for others perspectives. I had no problem with his decision to incorporate science fiction into his own world view; however, when he started taking them to the Scientology Church of Dallas I started having some issues.
And thank you for your last statement. I concur!!!
Nursery rhymes about Old Mother Hubbard?
I think they function under the same business model as crack dealers- give it to them for free until they’re addicted and then make them pay. Apparently he has had some “investors” in a catering truck business. So I’m assuming that some scientologists are funding him until his business is off the ground and then they will cut him off.
Last I read, you “pay” them back by working for them for free. Probably anything from sitting at those tables offering “personality” tests to doing janitorial work around their buildings.
The guy is scum.
The mom should be fighting any and all contact between the kids and him… but for the 10+ reasons that do not involve scientology, such as the physical assault, and his dead beat status.
Sorry, but objectively, there is little difference between taking his kids to a scientology meeting, and taking his kids to any brand of a bit orthodox Christian/Jewish/Muslim church/temple.
You are quite welcome.
Here’s hoping your mood is further elevated when you learn that the E-meter short-circuited and fried both of your SO’s ex’s synapses to cinders, and you no longer have to deal with him because Lisa Marie Presley is using him as a door stop.

Shodan
That’s not going to go down well at the Scilon centre. Inform him that when he’s locked up on a slave ship your wife won’t be commandeering a vessel to make sure he gets face time with the kids.
in an ideal world i would be allowed to ludovico technique his ass in my own way. strap his ass to a chair, put retractors under his eyelids, and then force him to watch the O network continuously until he starts to froth at the mouth and jibber. Too damned bad this isnt an ideal world
Hey, I’m not doing anything to anyone’s ass
And Fuck Tom Cruise as well for his, need for scientology and push this, bullshit onto others where they do need medication for the long suffering.
I go though crappy patches each year with psoriasis where I’ve become reliant on it. Its not a cure its treatment for pain and suffering for 30 years.
As for this, guy’s rant with wife I don’t think its non of our business to judge the guy, I don’t know him, well enough to know if he’s a total ass towards the wife and children or just misunderstood?
I’ve heard the Jehovah’s Witnesses will make you do that, especially WRT anybody who leaves the sect.
But they don’t sue!
