So the line is Scientology? Choking out mom in front of the kids sucks but at least he’s not a Scientologist? Interesting. To my way of thinking the heroin/crack is the domestic violence. Scientology is the blunts.
I would think that domestic iolence is far, far worse than Scientology.

Do a little googling on Scientology. Read the negative things you find. It literally (and that ain’t hyperbole) requires you to self-induce a state of ‘Psychosis Situational’ (via the E-Meter and the Audit shit), in order to swallow the Xenu shit. “orthodox Christian/Jewish/Muslim” doesn’t require that before you can swallow the basic tenets. They only require you to accept some comforting lies. Scientology requires you to accept some really psychotic lies.
Google yourself up “Sea Org” (you may have to throw in ‘Scientology’ as a search term). They have a way of taking advantage of the people with no money. It’s called ‘slavery’ by most people. This is not a typical ‘religion’.
You know, it occurs to me that Scientology is probably the most unpopular religion in America. Nobody who has heard of it and is not in it seems to have any respect for it. Not even Satanism, or Wicca or any other form of neo-paganism, or the Unification Church with its Moonies selling flowers in the streets, is so widely despised. It says something for the power of the tradition of religious freedom in this country that it thrives as much as it does and its facilities are rarely vandalized. (Of course, it also speaks to the power of the Church’s taste for proactive litigation; and the power of having a few high-profile Hollywood celebs in thrall.)
