I pit my viremia

I’m currently undergoing lovely myalgias, arthralgias, headaches and anorexia, all of which began about 10 AM today, and have been picking up speed.

It doesn’t appear to be influenza, there are no shaking chills or any respiratory component. Just another troublesome transitory virus. I am just grateful I’m not spewing from both ends. I fear a respiratory component may arrive in a day or 3.

It made me feel bad enough to cancel a conference and leave work 3 hours early today. When I left the building, the wind hit me, and that hurt!

And I don’t think I’ll be going tomorrow, either.

I’ve beaten the symptoms back about 20% with judicious use of ibuprofen and acetaminophen, but Og, I feel like crap.

I’m subsisting on clear liquids and an english muffin so far today.

I know I’m sick when I’m not hungry…

This is most troubling, as I am supposed to see Springsteen in concert on Monday!!

Sorry this is such a tepid rant, but I can’t muster the energy for proper outrage.

Ta!

Aw, I hope you feel better. I hate being sick, especially now that I’m away from home with no mother to care for me. Take care of yourself!

I hope you feel better soon. If it makes you feel any better I never realized anorexia simply meant loss of appetite especially when prolonged.

I had to look it up to see why you used it in this case.

So even while sick and in the pit, you once again fought a little ignorance.

Jim

what are you doing at work, licking door knobs or what?
Eweeeeeeeeeeeee.
Take a handful of vitamins to help your poor stressed system get the nutrion it needs.

Then, when you puke it back later on, you can count pills in to toilet.
You will be better by Monday.

Bags your Springsteen tickets!

Juuuuust kidding, I can’t get there in time and I’m not really a fan anyway (but did that take you mind off your illness even just for a second??)…oh, and get well soon, I love your posts…even from waaaaay down here on the earth’s bottom.

Is “Bags” kiwi for “dibs”?

Qadgop,

You have not suffered in vain. Your shining example has moved me. I just called in and told my work that I cannot be in tomorrow.

Aspirin and bed rest for me! No one who has as much sick leave as I do should go to work feeling like I do.

Tris

Well, I’m in a position to use your Springsteen tickets if you can’t.

Can you sterilize them and put them in a sealed bag, and have someone else hand me the bag? :stuck_out_tongue:

I had to look up viremia, and then I found out it just means you have a virus. Thanks for wasting 0.34 seconds of my life, Qadgop.

(…oh, yeah, feel better and stuff. makes chicken broth)

Qadgop, I hope you feel better soon.

Yes, I hope you’re feeling great on Tuesday! :stuck_out_tongue:

Did the chicken enjoy the broth you made for it?

Now, now, there’s no need to get upset. QtM loves us so much that even while seriously ill he still tries to edify the masses. Bless him.

But I already knew what all those words meant so in your face you dictionary looker uppers! Ha!

:stuck_out_tongue:
Oh, yeah, hope you feel better soon QtM.

Minus the medical vocabulary, you’re communicating an awfully lot like an English professor I know.

You’ll be fine after you take those super-secret drugs we keep for ourselves and don’t tell the patients about.

But I’ve said too much.

Well, it’s an ill wind…

Look at the good side – if you just happen to barf on someone whom you do not like, you have the perfect excuse.

You just need to isolate the virus, dilute it with thousands of parts of water, and drink 4 drops of it. After that, have your chakras aligned and cleanse your aura. A little colon cleansing is a good way to finish up by flushing the toxins out of your system.
Or not.

Hope you feel better soon, doc!

This is what happens when you take your work home with you.
