I agree with the first part of this. I have no idea if she is real and I don’t really care except for idle curiosity. No one here deserved to know anything.
That wasn’t what I was saying. Of course no one deserves to know anything. But realistically, many will not believe her unless she does this. If, and this is a big if, she wants to be taken seriously then what else would have to happen?

Not likely that her handlers held it for her to prove she was a “BA” especially given that the posts immediately preceding that post were all about the importance of maintaining her teeth due to use of the mouth stick
Well, I assume she has some kind of cupholder attachment, in the same vein as a sip/puff controller, that would allow her to drink from a straw without her caretaker holding her drink for her the entire time. It’s not too much of a stretch to imagine that you could adjust it a bit and put an unopened beer bottle in the cupholder.

The post by NotOk does nothing to cast doubt on umkay’s legitimacy.
We don’t have any real proof of whether umkay is real or not, but her posts certainly seem authentic to a number of other people with direct experience with quadriplegia and the like. I certainly take people as who they say they are, when this is so.
I was very upset at her reported death and feel some genuine affection for her, as I understand her. But, this is in the context of an internet forum; all of us are only typing things here. It is human to feel and show affection and other emotion for all kinds of poorly proven or even fictional things - we can cry at movies, after all. Why can’t genuine internet-level emotional caring just be what it is?
I hereby agree to feel foolish about it if it turns out umkay wasn’t real.
But, there IS real feeling here on the board sometimes. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s a GOOD thing. Making it all the way to your own death while keeping your heart unbroken is not some kind of clever victory. It’s more of a waste. Come on, is it that scary to buy into things somewhat? To wear your heart on your sleeve - I mean your post - a little sometimes? Is the threat of learning you’ve been taken so onerous that it makes staying cynical the wisest way to live?
FWIW I was one of the people that private messaged umkay offering to help put it out there (as a long term poster) that she had some kind of proof, a photo or something. I did qualify the suggestion as seeming a bit like something out of a “spy movie”, and saw those couple words in her linked comment, so I can verify that that part of the comment does correspond to at least one pm.
They failed to mention that she was answering a question about if she had any stories of times she did something on her own out of sheer determination, like opening a bottle of wine or baking a cake.
She answered that she once drank an entire bottle of wine but doubted she could have opened it, and she had opened a beer bottle with her teeth and gone sky diving
She mentioned several times when asked about drinking and if her carers were involved in it, that she had friends and four brothers to help her drink if she wanted to.
