A Doper posted that she wanted to get weight loss surgery and for a few pages, many Dopers questioned her reasoning behind it, suggesting alternatives (which she hadn’t tried), and then maybe suggesting she check out help with her psychological weight problem before resorting to life altering physical surgery.
After all was said and done, Big T popped in and passive aggressively said he would have given us what was coming to us if we had the audacity to say it to him. Ok, well, he said he’d have been upset, because the posters disagreeing with the OP’s decision were morally indecent- whatever that means.
By this logic, no Pit thread should be more than three posts long. Only one person is allowed to tell someone they’re being a jerk, and no one is allowed to take the jerk’s side. Got it.
Oh THAT thread. I don’t recall most of the people thinking she needed to rethink it being particularly nasty in that thread either, though I may not have hung around it till the very end. Good grief, someone is considering a life threatening surgery and somebody gets bent because some folks think its risky enough to be reconsidered/discussed?
Of course, once it comes back to him, he freaks out and tells us how he can’t sleep because he gets so mad. (Sorry, I’m not inclined to be all that sympathetic, BigT. I have OCD myself – I don’t use it as an excuse to demand special treatment)
Hmm, I had the same opinion of that poster before the 13 year old girl comment. Bit, let’s try the sandwich technique here.
BigT, your posts are spelled correctly, and your grammar is pretty good.
However, you are a jerk.
But we enjoy your jerkishness, so keep posting.
How was that?
BigT’s extra-lite-and-fluffy rants remind me of the Doonesbury strip where Mark laments how lame and vanilla protesters had become recently. In the background are meek looking protesters holding up signs like “Peace now, please!” and “End this war, if you don’t mind.”
