I am very glad that my norwegian buddy who just spend one of the more horrifying afternoons of his life is safe. I am seriously pissed off that he had to go through the explosion at such short quarters. They can go die in a fire.:mad:
Somehow “jackasses” seems…insufficient.
Clearly the best approach is to find out what their demands are and offer to meet them.
Then when they show up to collect, shoot them in the face.

aruvqan, I think MEBuckner’s point was that using much, much stronger language would certainly be warranted in this case. And I agree. When I left the house earlier, the news from Norway was already horrific at an estimated 20 people killed, and when I got home, the estimate had risen to 80. It is unspeakable.

He set of a bomb that killed 7 and gunned down 84 good young people.

I was just talking with another of my viking buddies [as i jokingly refer to them] and he is absolutely shocked. He was luckily nowhere near the bombing, and wasn’t related to anybody that got hurt or killed, he says that everybody is horrified, shocked and baffled. Apparently the guy was upset with how soft Norwegians are?!
He mentioned it was up to 91 
7 casualties in the bombing in Oslo and - so far - 84 confirmed shot and killed at Utøya island. They’re still not sure that they’ve found everyone, though
Here’s a little more information about the (now confessed) murderer, Anders Behring Breivik.
Right wing extremist, anti-Islam activist, poster on fundamentalist Christian blogs, and mass-murderer. That is what they know so far, or all they are releasing at this point anyway.
Not too happy about that link, it’s such a jumble of stuff and I can’t help but think someone was trying to make a link between violent movies, TV and video games, possibly the Masons as well. Seriously, the vast, overwhelming majority of people who like those things never harm anyone else, much less blow up buildings or gun down kids. It makes as much sense to blame it on his liking for classical music.
Really, the thing that always gets me about wild-eyed maniacs like this is how ordinary they are in so many ways.

Am I a horrible person fore being thankful that it was a Norwegian that did this? I didn’t wish for this to happen, needless to say, put I was crossing my fingers it wasn’t one of “them brown people”. We would never hear the end of this.
I am hoping the courts find a way to store him away for life in a place where he only knows that his name has become a symbol of ignominy and ridicule.

In fairness, as an adjective it doesn’t have a particularly racist overtone in the UK - we tend to mean South Asian when we say Asian, so “oriental” is a common descriptor for people from East Asia. As a noun, however, it does sound a bit iffy.
Seriously, I didn’t know that the Frankfurt School had banned that word too. Thanks for enlightening me.

Yeah, I don’t know why RaleighRally wants to make this guy out to be an “Oriental,” this incident just supports his theory that Northern Europeans are trying to turn themselves into a minority. This guy was just trying to help the process along by killing of 90-odd more in one fell swoop, eh? In your face, doubters!
