I saw the trailer for T3 tonight. . .

And oh my God . . .

But it seems that in the next few years, we’re being built up for an ‘evil’ series of flicks: Star Wars Episode III is supposed to be where all the Jedi get waxed. Terminator 3 is apparently title the “Rise of the Machines”.

Anybody know of any hot rumors floating around? Claire Daines?!?

Awaiting T3 more than any Star Wars flick to ever come down the pike. . .

Well… if you saw the same trailer i jsut watched on the Quicktime Trailer page…

I have to say i am not impressed. Not a frame from the movie was in the trailer, just a mediocre rendering of the Title Icon.

My $.02 is: this thing reaks of bad. No cameron. No original cast except Ah’nuld, and no reason for a sequel really.

I was particualrly annoyed to hear that they had a release date and production schedule BEFORE the had a script, from most reports.

STUDIO GUY: “Lets make a quick buck off of a can’t miss franchise. As long as Ah’nuld is back, we can’t lose. Oh yeah, we’ll bang out a script eventually. How are the toys coming?”

Sorry to sound cynical.
on the plus side:

Mostel is an above average director.

T3 is a chick.

The effects will definitely be good.

and you really can’t beat a good apocalyptic, end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it story with a huge budget. (Assuming they don’t cop out and have T1 and John Connor somehow create a revisionist future and give us a happy ending).

I feel like that episode of South Park where the kids wait all day to see the trailer for a movie…AND IT KICKS ASS!

That’s because it’s not a trailer. It’s a teaser. You do not call the Daredevil preview, consisting of several blurred shots of people in the movie, a trailer. Nor do you call a picture of the Hulk smashing in the wall a trailer. They’re all what are known as teasers, because it is far too early to have a trailer out, except in the minds of the producers of LOTR(and what the fuck is up with that?).

Linda Hamilton was in the original.

i dunno. whatever. the “teaser” was on the “movie trailers” page at Quicktime, so i just called it that.

or think perhaps a “teaser” is a type of “trailer”?
Oh howabout: “lame marketing gimmick to try and make me plan next summer around another lame franchise movie by just implying its existence”.

I’ve seen the DD and hulk “teasers”, The Hulk one was actually sorta, vaguely cool, in a slightly icky, manipulative way. The Daredevil stuff looked like a syndicated DD TV show.

the T3 one was lame…

Yadda, yadda, yadda. . . It’s all semantics. You get my drift anyway . . .

Holy Bat Crap Bad Hat! I just read this here article and you’re right! No Cameron. “Reese” is back. And the new Terminator is a chick?

I’m still awaiting it’s release with bated breath . . .

Ummmm, T2 had a revisionist plot to it, and from what I hear so far, T3 will too.

According to The Terminator, the machines lost. Sending the terminator back in time was a last ditch effort before the humans destroyed Skynet. And at the beginning of the war, the terminators were just huminoid robots. It took them a while before they came up with the concept of making them look human. And even then, the first series or so were covered in rubber making them easy to distinguish. And they all did NOT look like Arnold. So, if this is going to take place at the begining of the war, and they already have a much more advanced terminator than the T-500 series, the story’s been rewritten, so complaining about a rewrite for a “happy ending” is kind of silly.

It may end on a downer, but with the knowledge that Skynet does indeed fall, it will have a bit of a silver lining.
