I have yet to see any kind of mod warning for this asshole, which surprises me. I fully realize that I might deserve one too, for my initial reaction (which I stand by) but - it specifically says that racism and “hate speech” is against the Pit rules, and I think his language qualifies as racial hate speech especially if it’s true what askeptic said.
Anyway, I’ll say it again - if this face is your idea of “beaten with a barbed wire baseball bat” then you need a pair of glasses. My girlfriend is fucking gorgeous, and I will post all the pictures of her that I want.
As others have said, it’s fucked that this guy, if he really “doesn’t take this message board seriously” and thinks that we need to “get a life” or whatever, would make this so personal, especially in the defense of someone else (it’s not even like I specifically insulted HIM or anything - I made fun of someone else’s SPELLING and he responded to that with the most hateful remark I’ve ever seen on this board?) I think the guy is nuts, and the fact that he still won’t even apologize after all this would indicate something very wrong with his personality.

For a few minutes when you edited a post you could click a link “edited by Username” and it would bring up a page and show you both before the edit and after the edit. It was removed not long after I noticed it.

If we can bring this back to Ralph again, I’ve gotta defend him to a degree. Sure he asks dumb questions, but the answers to those dumb questions are often really interesting, the Roman trash collection one being a perfect example.
Sure, point taken. If there’s one lesson of this thread in my opinion it’s that while there are some posters who might occasionally annoy us, this is not the same thing as being an ASSHOLE. Despite what’s been said about them gonzo and ralph obey the rules of the forum and are polite. I don’t really have anything against them and certainly would never attack them personally.
Then there are posters who are are just flat-out worthless. Fortunately, they usually end up being banned, and then spend their lives bitching and whining in the you-know-where, like washed up hookers in a crack house.

The thing that bothers me here is that this guy is NOT a troll - he’s been here for a while, he’s never engaged in any kind of trolling OP or any other kind of posts designed to elicit negative reactions from people. As far as I can tell he has made about 300 very un-extraordinary posts about sports, games and TV shows, and then suddenly out of the blue makes this totally insane, sociopathic, fucked up comment.
Actually, it’s pretty classic troll behavior of a certain type–some trolls come out swinging, foaming at the mouth from day one. The problem with those is that they tend to flame out quickly and never get the amount of reaction that the sleeper trolls get. Sleeper trolls, like their cousins the sock puppet trolls, wait around for a while, building up a generally inoffensive demeanor, playing games, posting innocuous “me too” posts here and there but laying low. Usually they’re acquiring targets, people they can see are probably good for a really spectacular high speed comeapart if poked juuuuuust right. I think that one’s been watching you for a while, has figured out you have a temper and figured out one or two good buttons to push on you. Just happens I think he blew his wad too quickly by staying too adamant in this thread–dude coulda been a contender by following you around and pushing for rabid gun control or yak extermination or something. Meh, ignore it, it’ll go find another bridge to infest…
