I think I'm gorgeous, so screw you

I dyed my hair blond yesterday. Really blond. As blond as I could get it through the use of off-the-shelf commercial products. Today, two people saw my hair and immediately asked if I’d lost a bet. The second one, when informed this wasn’t the case, tried to cover up by saying I was really cute and looked like a chicken. Yeah, now I feel better.

I think I look good. Screw everybody else.

So… do you look more like this kid, or the guy on this page now?

Definitely Draco Malfoy. If the guy on the second page did in fact have jet black hair before (my doubts are the size of New Mexico), I have to try that stuff.

I’m without a camera, dahling. But would these blue eyes lie?

It’ll grow on people. I must advise you to get a pro to really get the color right for you. Brassy is rarely cool. If you want platinum, a pro usually has to do some magic on it.

Don’t leave that guy alone in the poultry aisle.

I have heard awesome things about Manic Panic. From people with neon-red hair (as in, they had black hair, and used the Manic Panic to bleach it and then dye it bright red).

Just sayin’.

oh wait… no camera

My son has incredibly thick black hair, in fact folks often think he’s of Asian descent instead of Native American. He got this notion about having white-blond hair one year, so in return for bringing up his grades I allowed it for the summer.

Straight up bleaching kits worked, but it took three of them in succession. He went something like  :o :dubious: colorwise and of course it fried his poor hair so much he ended up looking like a q-tip, but it worked. We had great fun playing with colored mousses and gels for the rest of the summer, since they don’t ever show up on him otherwise.

He enjoyed it, and that’s all that mattered. If you’re enjoying yours, more power to you.

Two words: Blue Shampoo

Well, it depends. I’m sure you are gorgeous, Priceguy, but having said that, is there a scary contrast now between the color of your hair and the color of your eyebrows? I ask because I have naturally light brown hair (the nothingish color typically called “mousy”) but very dark brown eyebrows, and I often dye my hair red. The contrast is striking indeed, although, to be honest, I found it to be somewhat entertaining.

Eh. Not everyone’s eyebrows match their hair anyway. Many, if not most, natural redheads have blond eyebrows, for example. (FYI, if you dye your hair red, then use makeup to make your eyebrows match, it’s a dead giveaway that your color isn’t natural) Speaking of eyebrows, is it true that they’ll fall out if you actually dye them too?

Damn straight.

It’s not that bad. My natural hair colour is a medium blond, and my eyebrows are a little bit darker than that. I’ve thought about dying my eyebrows too, but a) I don’t like the idea of all that ammonia and peroxide and shit so close to my eyes and b) eyebrows that light in hue would make me look scary. Not the kind of scary where mothers keep their children away from you, but the kind where passing scientists ask for blood samples.

Stay out of the pool, it’ll turn green.

If they like soccer, tell them you want to “grab it like Cañizares

The first pictures just show him blonde, but I’ve seen him with traffic light green and red, too.

Re: Eyebrows; it depends on your natural hair colour just how similar your eyebrows are to the hair on your head.

Blonde: within two shades either side of your natural hair colour

Red: Blonde, if you’re a lighter redhead and gingery brown if you’re a darker redhead.

Brunette; up to four shades lighter, to one darker.

But there are some freaks out there :stuck_out_tongue: (ie. my very fair friend with normal ash-blonde hair and invisible eyebrows :D)

Can you do the requisite lip curl?

Not that we don’t still want pictures, but I am resigned to not getting them.

I thought as much about the eyebrows but was curious. On What Not to Wear, I’ve seen the make-up artist dye people’s eyebrows with creme bleach, which is normally sold as a bleaching agent for chin hairs and such. It doesn’t drip so it won’t run into your eyes and blind you. I still wouldn’t use it, though, as something bad is likely to happen if I do. Like an allergic reaction. I am fairly sensitive to that stuff.

No word on whether those people’s eyebrows fell out, though, elfkin477. I know that there is often a difference between hair and eyebrow color, like that blond-browed redhead thing. Sometimes it just looks really strange, though. I just leave my brows the way they are. When I dyed my hair red, people often asked if the color was natural. It was kind of obvious that it wasn’t, if you ask me, because not only are my eyebrows dark brown, I don’t have the typical redhead complexion either.
