Hi all. Many, many years ago, I used to be active here as Bibliovore. Friendships were made, fun was had, life was good. Now, after getting older, wrinklier, fatter and slower, I decided to sign up again. I hope I haven’t broken any rules in doing so, as I think my old account is now defunct, but it would be great see see if any of the old gang of UK Dopers are still here, and maybe even catch up with a few people.
Anyway it’s good to be back. The place has changed!

vbulletin wasn’t able to handle the database size anymore; timeouts were frequent as were other board issues.
I think I met you when I went to the UK in 2004. As I recall, quite a few London and near-London dopers showed up for my first Saturday there and took me on a bit of a pub crawl, including a visit to the George. It was a wonderful day for me.
I may be mis-remembering that particular outing, but did you meet a UK Doper there called Crusoe? I seem to remember that he ended up in a fairly serious relationship with a lovely lady Doper he met at one of our pub meetups.
