Due to some shuffling of people in my office, a position has opened up that I’ve been wanting for a while now. I really didn’t think it was going to but I’ve just applied and am so anxious/excited right now!

I had an odd experience a month or so ago, right before all this job shuffling started. My manager asked me to come to her office. I was half afraid something was wrong but all she wanted to do was ask where I saw myself going with the company in the next year or so. We talked about several things and I mentioned a job I’d be interested in that I feel I’d be good at. She agreed that I’d be a good fit for that position and it just happens to be the one that is now open. I’m hoping she knew what was coming up and will recommend me to the hiring manager.
That’s even better; she won’t be surprised if you tell her you are moving on…always good to have the blessing of the person you are working for.
