Sorry, BottledBlondJeanie, but when someone writes a post expressing a wish to kill me, I see no reason to be polite or nice. He could have started a debate on the use of illicit drugs in GD or simply posted a rant against drug abuse, and I would probably remained silent or at least posted a semi-polite reply.

Poisoning local populaces to gain a few extra cents is not cool, killing people because the corporation does not wish to pay disposal fees for toxic wastes deserves not but the most stringent of punishments in return.

I think I have demonstrated that it is not “pretty damn obvious” that he was joking, when a pretty significant percentage of his total posts are saying the same thing. To the contrary, I think it’s pretty damn obvious that the OP represents his true feelings.

To one degree or another, yah;

as I said, I used to be one of the “leave them be” types of folks, but then they just got to be such a damn pain in the ass. Anybody who makes it so that there life style impinges on the quality of life of those around them, and then refuses to change or even acknowledge that they have a problem;

Well hell, what else do you suggest we do to them? They have made a conscious decision to lead the live style that they lead, their choice is there choice. Shove them in rehab? The success rate if horrid. Jail? Hah, not enough jail cells OR financial resources.

Continue to let them be? Why should any one person have the right to reduce the quality of life of multitudes of other people around them?

If he doesn’t like them, fine, I agree he’s entitled. I have no problem with that. It’s when he begins advocating their deaths that I begin to have a problem.

Granted I used a bunch of run on sentences and very poor grammatical structure to do so but. . . .

It is in my opinion what would be the ONLY 100% effective solution, or at least the most efficient solution.

Yes, it completely disregards human life, but then again somebody who is popping pills or injecting <chemical of your choice> is already doing that.

As for causal drug users;

it is not that I have a problem with them per say, but rather I have a problem with the attitudes that they create surrounding drugs. I mean if somebody just smoked a doobie now and then and that was the extent to which drugs where used in society, then hey, whatever. I may believe it is sinful and incorrect, but fuck it, your choice.

It is when some guy smokes a few joints, gets drunk, takes a few hits of acid, and then goes and beats the shit out of the first person he sees;

that I have a problem with.

If drug use was COMPLETELY forbidden socially then we would not have that problem.

But they are not, and we do.

I hate being around people who are drunk, stoned, tripping etc. I did try pot a few times, many years ago, and booze. I decided I was obnoxious enough on my own, without any help from chems or booze. I also Hate being around republicans some times too. BUT I dont go around advocating we do away with them. Not all people who use go around disturbing other people, in fact most people who use dont. Thing is, you only notice the ones who cant behave themselves.
