I win the Internet! First MMP of the week

I love that song.

Why are y’all watching me?
Irked, came home. More irk tomorrow.

BLERF!
It’s muggy at the mothership, the mess from the midwest has yet to roll thru.
Dear loving Mrs. Vorlon, I realize that you have a CPAP, but even wearing it, you give our bed ‘magic fingers’, and not in a fracking good way. Do not be supprised if I find extra pillows to apply to your head. Just sayin…
Todays list of kaka to do is, but not limited to the following:

change the thermomiter, has been wonky since reconstruction in '08, but seems to have had another stroke,

Med run to various locations for various pills,

City Hall to give them moneys, because the mouth breathing troglites can’t figure out how to do it on line,

Grocery store to lay in supplies, Jr. is out on co-op and needs to bring lunch every day,

Cleaning and Laundry, because both those faries are MIA, and those matters manage to slip the Mrs. mind…

and I’ll slip in homework, argueing with a Dept assistant chair on classes over the summer, and a nap in the mix somewhere.
And, in other news, I figured out why the cell phone needed to be charged all the time–the extended life battery was realy starting to took like** April R**, and while the look is good on her, it is definitly not good on a Lithium-Ion battery.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 68 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 90 for the day with much hyoooooomidity. I think it rained durin’ the night. If’n it did it wasn’t much but outside seems a lot wetter than just the usual dew.

Hope you catch the mouse soon sari.

Glad you’re ok freebie.

flytrap why do you keep callin’ people Presbyterians?

Here’s hopin’ the book and the relaxation techniques work for ya $2.99.

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy demands to be fed. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence. Oh well, three day weekend comin’ up!

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Good morning! I woke at 5 because my body doesn’t want me to sleep in. Oh well… dog has been fed and she’s outside for the 3rd time in the last hour. Cat box is scooped. I’m caffeinating but not breakfasting till **FCD **gets up, tho that practice may not last if he sleeps his way thru retirement.

Today’s plans are:
[ul]
[li]Laundry[/li][li]Clean the bathrooms[/li][li]Ready the guest room (fresh linens and overall dusting)[/li][li]Mow before the rain hits[/li][li]Buy strawberries and make strawberry cheesecake pie[/li][li]Thaw something for tomorrow’s dinner[/li][li]Figure out how to get to Union Station while avoiding the sinkhole traffic in DC[/li][li]???[/li][li]Profit!!![/li][/ul]
Just the last-minute pre-visitor checklist. No big deal.

Hugs to all who need 'em and smoochies all around!

Happy Thursday!

Morning, mumpers! I’m home again - did you miss me? Actually, I was home just before midnight yesterday, flight got in half an hour early and the traffic back down the motorway from the airport wasn’t as bad as it usually is. Things were going really well until I got off the motorway then I started to notice a rattling sound from the front end of the car every time I went over a bit of uneven ground. It was a bit like a loose bit of metal just bumping around…by the time I got to my street it was a bit more obvious and then a big metal ring fell off onto the road just as I was parking!

I’m not sure where it came from or what it is, it looks as though it’s a circular bracket of some kind that has sheared off from somewhere. Anyway, I don’t have time for motor bother until Saturday so it’ll have to wait. Tonight I have to rescue the fuzzbutts from the moggery, take them home, go grocery shopping and then call in to a friend on the way back to collect keys as she’s away this weekend and I’m feeding her pets.

I’ll be able to visit the garage on Saturday morning though, I will give them the bit of metal I picked up off the road and hopefully they will tell me it’s simple to replace and doesn’t mean the engine is about to fall out.

I had another long venting call from Irish Storyteller last night. You know you’re a couple of nerds when in a rant about your ex-girlfriend you reference Narnia, Nadine from Twin Peaks, Norse mythology, Oz, and Sally Struthers. Next time I’m gonna see if we can work in a few Dune references. His court date is tomorrow, so here’s hoping his stress levels reduce drastically. Unfortunately DSS isn’t going to take the kids away from Psycho Bitch because there were no holes in the floor or unsafe living conditions. I guess living with a mother who’s clearly psychotic and/or schizophrenic is considered safe? Yeah, let me put you in touch with Complicated Friend who can fill you in on his opinion of that. Be prepared for aircraft carriers full of profanity, though. (His mother is schizo.)

Anyway, long story short, my battery ran down while Irish Storyteller was ranting. His stories tend to outlive battery life. Definitely going to have to get together this weekend.

Time to be off to irk. Behave yourselves!

Well, there is evidence that the first woman (the one who was killed) was looking at her phone while she was walking along, and wasn’t paying much attention to where she was going.

I’m off tto work now.

flytrap and midget, that was me who sent you a friend request on FB. Just so you know it wasn’t a complete stranger. I was reading the post about the board being down.

FCM: I’m deeply disappointed that you don’t share every detail.

Was very tired yesterday and managed to get to bed early and get a decent night’s sleep. Yay!

Need to get to work early.

Rah.

Hugs.

GT

The Bubster is very sick. We went to the emergency vet in the middle of the night and he came back home with me but he’s worse now and we’re going to have to go back. This time they’ll keep him, probably overnight. I’m scared for my boy.

You got it.

Today’s list:[ul]

Mowing is done - much rain is threatened and we wanted to be sure the grass was beaten into submission first. Showers and respectable attire have been had. As has breakfast. **FCD **needs some new sneaks, so we’ll be headed to the wilds of Waldorf later today.

Yep, it’s a retirement whirlwind here.

Yawn. Morning, everybody. Today is my Friday, and then I’ve got packing, taking dogfriend to the doggy-hotel, driving, wedding, more driving, day-long photo shoot, more driving, and then laundry and one more day off to restore my equilibrium and reassure dogfriend that we love him with couch snuggles.

I expect today to take a very long time. Roomie actually has to work tomorrow morning, so our normal get-up-and-go time of Oh-God-Hundred is delayed to about noon. We should still get up to Maine in daylight, and then I expect to spend tomorrow night reading in my hotel room while Roomie and Boyfriend cavort in a room that is hopefully not right next to mine.

The wedding on Saturday is for two dear friends, but I’m kind of annoyed about the whole thing. For the last four years, we’ve had our annual photo shoot on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Despite the fact that they have been there every year and know full well when we usually do the shoot, they scheduled their wedding for that day. Because of course they did. So the PTB pushed the shoot back a day, and many of us are grumbly about it.

But then, I’m not happy unless I’m grumbly about something.

Morning all,

drip…drip…drip I tried to out run the morning thunderstorm into work. Didn’t quite make it. Also managed to drop my access card so got even wetter. sigh And the air-conditioning is on high too. Brrrrrrr!

Today is also the BIG DAY that I have been preparing for for the last 4 plus weeks. I am really not that nervous as I will be doing the training over the phone and not in person. I am just tired and want it to be done already.

{{{StickyBuns and Bubster}}} Hope the little feller is ok!

Drae I don’t like anybody well enough to deal with a weddin’ on a major holiday weekend. Then again, I am a curmudgeon.

Speakin’ of Memorial Day weekend, the pool party is on for Sattidy. The weather PTB promise us mid 80s which would be nice. Warm but not too warm. Glad I went ahead and smoked the <snerk> butts <snerk> last weekend so all that’s needed with that is to warm bbq up. I need to make coleslaw which I shall do tonight. MOG is bringin’ N.O.T. sallit, JDD and Partner are bringin’ hot wings and fixin’s for poolside munchies, another friend is bringin’ buns, plates, cups and eatin’ utensils. No need for napkins as I have plenty of biiiiiiiig paper napkins at da cave. A couple other friends are bringin’ desserts and a couple are bringin’ adult beverages. I’ll also need to make baked beans which I can do Sattidy mornin’ and get over to the church house for some ice. Should be a fun day!

Anybody else got big plans? For you Non-Amurrkins, this weekend is Memorial Day weekend and the official start of Summer.

Oh and we’re havin’ burgers and dawgs for N.O.L. at irk today, so yay for that!

ETA: Jynx good luck with the presentation!

UPS delivered a fresh box of donwannas. They’re so fresh and wonderful, I think I partook of too many that I’m not even interested in the blurfs.

Didja know pollen (or whatever made me sneezy) sleeps at night? I’ve been outside 17+ of the last 19 hrs; I wasn’t a happy camper yestoidy afernoon or evening but last night didn’t bother me so it must be it was sleeping, right?

Got a brick workout in already this morning. Debating whether I should go into orifice, but that would mean getting more formally dressed as barefoot, shorts & t-shirts in generally not office attire. :frowning:

In other news, I just switched HVAC from “Heat” to “Off” position as Ima thinkin’ that we’re done with the cold weather for the season. Now I need to rustle up something for Breakfast II as I’m hongry again.

I had a cousin that got married the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving. Her sister also did Memorial Day weekend, another cousin did the third of July, and I think two years ago I had a friend that did Labor Day weekend. I think this summer I also have one that is the Sunday before July 4th, which means I’ll be driving home from Philadelphia at a stupid hour on Sunday night to make it to work on Monday. I really hate Sunday weddings.

If I ever get married, I’m doing it on a Tuesday, just to screw with all of them.

In the case of this weekend’s wedding, I know that the bride’s pain-in-the-ass mother told her that this was the only weekend she could make it. To her own effing daughter’s wedding. So I’ll cut them just the teensiest bit of slack.

My mom sent me thisand I had to share - it’s good for a giggle…

**Drae **- the very idea of a holiday wedding makes me shake my head. Oh well… Lucky for me, I hardly ever get invited to any weddings. Last one was my daughter’s 5 years ago. I think the wedding planning lasted longer than the marriage. :stuck_out_tongue:
