I am not sure I would consider Barnes and Nobles a REAL job. Guess it depends on the standards of what a real job constitutes.

What exactly do your relatives do that they can’t be considered to have a real job? Is a Career considered a real job? Or does your gothicness prevent the idea of working for the big bad corporation prevent careers from being a viable option in that regard?

Does only retail count as a REAL job? What about construction workers that actually WORK for a living? Standing around putting up with bullshit from dumbass customers is hard, don’t get me wrong, but it isn’t physically hard. So would your standards of a REAL job rely upon putting up with bullshit? Hmm, that doesn’t really narrow things down. How about putting up with customers. So would a car salesman be said to have more of a real job than say, a waitress? (becaue believe me, car salesmen put up with some shit, at least SOME people are nice to waitresses)

Or is a REAL job only that which you allow yourself to do. So if you don’t work in a factory, it isn’t a real job, if you don’t teach children for a living, it isn’t a real job, only low paying jobs that make you put up with shit, that you yourself do, or have recently done, constitutes a real job?

Or is my knee jerking here?

Okay, Well sweetie, THERE’S part of your trouble. Don’t you know about Politics and religion?? You keep THOSE two OUT of conversations, UNLESS you want to have open debate etc.

When we say talk, we mean first off,gentle NON CONFRONTATIONAL, specific communication about the “distance” and discomfort between you the the 2ps (2 princesses,lol).

If that proves to be too uncomfortable for either you or the 2ps, then SECONDLY what we mean by talk is CASUAL talk.

You know, like several of us have already given you examples on HOW to find common ground with them,I could have SWORN That at some point you sort of agreed with us.

Okay, here’s a good for instance. You invite them on an outing to michaels, you have small talk with them,just chitchat,you know,like where’s the best coffee/lattes, what kindof crafts you and they would like to buy supplies for, how WONDERFULLY CPG is doing at his new job (okay so maybe he has an old job,dontcha get the drift here?).

You do NOT have to hit this thing “full-on” and all at once, the troubles and tension have been brewing for what??? 7 years? Take is SLOW and easy, and MOST important keep the conversation NEUTRAL.

Come on sweetie!!! You’re what?? around 25?? You’ve GOT to have better common sense than that “oh, I tried to talk to them, but they got mad cuz I love dubya”??? What are you doing talking controversial subject matter with someone with whom you are TRYING to establish a rapport???
