I Work With...

My coworker went to Park High School with Sean William Scott. He said Sean is/was EXACTLY like his character Stilfer(sp?) from the first American Pie.

My sister-in-law once dated Roy Rogers nephew.

My dad’s first cousin was Keith Whitley’s (the country singer who , in the finest tradition of country singers, drank himself to death at an early age) father. They lived across the street from some other cousins and I vaguely remember playing with them when just a young nipper. The last time I was in Sandy Hook, KY I talked to his sister.

When I was a pipefitter in the early 70s I worked with Ricky Skaggs’ father.

I read part of newscrasher’s thread on his fameousity.

I was taught C++ at University by an ex-royal-marine-commando.

I used to work with a woman who later became an MTV veejay and sometime model.

I used to work with Nicole Sullivan at a restaurant while she was in college. No big surprise - she was pretty funny and outgoing.

Dennis Greene?

Ivylad went to the same high school as John Anderson, the country singer.

I think they got into a fight, too. Ivylad won.

I shared a bed once with AIDS activist Michael Callen!

It involved a blizzard. No, it was platonic. And it was before he contracted AIDS.

As far as I know, none of my coworkers know anyone famous.

However, one of my classmates from the class I just finished is sort of related to Debra Messing. They were recently at the same wedding.

My future mother-in-law went to school with Victoria Principal.

My future father-in-law went to school with Penn Jillette.

At the recent DNC, my fiancee got moved aside by Ronald Reagan Jr.'s secret service (he was working there).

I once accidently drove into Bob Cousy’s driveway and up to his house before I realized that it WASN’T the driveway to Notre Dame High School (they were right next to each other). My foster parent’s kids had been friends with his kid(s) when they were younger. Later that same year, I was the drill team commander of the JROTC unit which lead the parade that kicked off his International Basketball Tournement. After the parade I walked right past the car Fred the Baker from Dunkin Donuts was sitting in.

One of my high school teachers was on The Price is Right.

I met Michael Dukakis when he was still governor.

Long, long ago I worked at McDonald’s with Heather McGill, the girl with whom Tobey Maguire had a faux conversation in the beginning of Pleasantville (credited on IMDb as “Girl in School Yard”). Harmless may have worked with her, too, we both slung moo back in the day.

A parole agent in the state office I work in is the agent for rap artist Beanie Siegel’s cousin who just got out of jail on a 13 year bid for third degree murder (speculation abounds that the cousin took the fall for Beanie; apparently to little avail, as Beanie is now being brought up on charges of his own). Mr. Siegel came by our office to drop off his cousin, and I got my picture taken with him (Beanie, of course, not the cousin!). If I ever need to get past the bouncers at any Philly club, I’m set!

I work with a guy named Hunley, who is a decendant (sp?) of the man who designed the Confederate submarime CSS Hunley, during the US Civil War.

A retired astronaut, who piloted Challenger on it’s last mission before it blew up.

NFL QB Rick Meier’s father was my shop teacher in high school.

NFL quarterback and professional crybaby Jeff George’s brother worked out at the same YMCA as I did. Jeff grew up in the neighborhood where I was living.

I neglected to say in my previous post that the former astronaut is the big Kahuna where I work.

I worked with a very pretty gal whose husband’s company sponsored racecar drivers, and sometimes she’d attend races with her husband. There is a photograph, which I have seen, of her at a race tent standing with Paul Newman. He’s got his arm around her.

My cousin was in the Navy for a while & there’s a photo of him standing with Bill Clinton.

My Hubby drove John Kerry around town last year, before the primaries.

I think I’ve mentioned this before, but what the heck. Winona Ryder went to my junior high and high school, although she’s several years older than me and our time never overlapped. But I did have a number of teachers that had taught her, when her name was Nonie Horowitz. My AP Lit teacher was her drama teacher, as a matter of fact.

If anyone saw the John Travolta flop Phenomenon, which Travolta becomes a genius and starts building cool gadgets (or something, I never saw it), the gadgets were built by my parents’ next-door neighbor, who’s a solar engineer.

My dad’s best friend grew up with Robin Williams.

My cousin’s husband’s sister (who I have met!) is a BBC reporter in Baghdad. I heard her on NPR just yesterday.

One of my colleagues daughters is an actor in The Bill (A very well known British police show).

I was at school (here in england) with Joss Wheedon who created Buffy the Vampire Slayer and a few other things (he was just Joe the Yank when I knew him).

I have punched Prince Edward in a fight between my school and Gordonstoun (the fight was on the playing fields at Eton - it’s a long story). He didn’t like it.

Oh yeah. Her.
Don’t forget, one of the guys from Creed still owes us money for his Ensoniq sampler, too.
You’d think he would have the money by now.
C’mon, Scott, time to pay up! :stuck_out_tongue:

Chris Cobb and Brandon Bittner of Socialburn were our customers before they got signed, so we’ve met the whole band. Like most musicians, they liked to loiter and play with the shiny instruments. Chris was nice enough to give me a copy of their CD even after I charged him late fees out the wazoo.

I work with former NHL goalie Ken Dryden (well, he’s the minister for my department and we’re in the same building).

My mum, when she was a young lass, used to babysit the younger brother of the Toni part of Toni and Guy.

In case you have not heard of them, this is Toni and Guy
