Ice water & other missed things in the MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 76 Amurrkin out and cloudy (dark actually) with a predicted high of ONLY 85 (BRRR!) with a chance of isolated tstorms this afternoon. We shall see. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization. I shall be the non-cannibal kind of Lector this mornin’. I shall also meet briefly with EYP about becomin’ a LEM. This is to turn in the application and then await Diocesan approval. N.O.L. shall be sammiches and I am actually goin’ to make sup. We shall have pot roast with little N.O.T. 'n carrots, baby lima beans and cornbread. Just ready for some good old fashioned homemade vittles!

MOOOOOOM have a safe rest of your trip home!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Forget to mention - we lunched as Sonny’s yesterday and FIL paid. I’m glad I saw the receipt. On a $50 tab, he left a $3 tip. I had a $5 handy and I left it after everyone was on the way out. Our server was better than 6%…

I suspect it’s an age thing…

Happy Sunday!

It’s a cool and cloudy 61 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 77.
The windows are open since the neighborhood is quiet.
We’ll see how long that lasts.
I wonder if the neighbor’s father died, I know he was really sick. They had a lot of people over yesterday, much drunkedness. Carloads of people pulling up and everybody, including the drivers, getting out with a beer bottle in their hand(s). Some of them were carrying a half empty bottle in one hand and an unopened bottle in the other. However there was a lot of hugging, the kind of hugs where people are patting each other on the back as they hug. Not happy greeting hugs, more like consoling hugs.
Lots of kids too, who were way more nosier into the wee hours than the adults were.

I’m up way too early, but I woke at 4:30 and decided to stay up.
I’ll be heading out to the park shortly though, just waiting for the daylight.
I should run back upstairs and get my hoodie, it gets a bit chilly there.
No deheathenization here, although I think sitting in the dog park can count as a religious experience. You have nature, grass and trees, happy dogs, and friendly people.
Happy and safe driving **FCM
**

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. Going to watch curling in a bit.

Safe travels, Moooommmmm!!!!

I thought you said you had a beer; that stuff is like making love in a canoe.

Then be active & it won’t be so hot. :stuck_out_tongue:
I’m like the old Army commercial. This morning I’ve already:
[ul][li]I shot sunrise - absolutely EPIC!!! **W[/li][li]Bought bagels [/li][li]Let the dogs out[/li][li]Fed the dogs[/li][li]Beat the pupper; she lurves it when I wrassle her! :)[/li][li]Looked at said sunrise photos [/li][li]Went for a run[/li][li]Et a bagel[/ul][/li]
Now I need a shower as I think we’re going to a sunflower farm, then a balloon flight/memorial service on the way home tonight.
** I’ve shot many, many, many sunrises but I learned something new today. Iffn one’s shooting by a seawall, make sure to check the tide & wind charts. I got there, looked around & almost moved to a ‘safer’ spot but decided to stay; it was WILD! I shot sun & spray.

Morning all. Slept until 0730, but still tired from yesterday. Rain is predicted today, tonight and tomorrow, but I’ll believe it when I see it after yesterday. Supposed to be much cooler.

Mooooooommmmm, safe traveling and don’t be in a rush; you’re going to be tired anyway, rushing makes it worse. And I leave 20% unless the service was exceptionally bad.

Sari, beer and death don’t go together in my book, but families will be families…

Now need to seek sustenance from the refrigerator. All y’all have a good Sunday.

Ah, well-balanced and with exquisite timing…

Your family isn’t Polish I take it?

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to do KP and shower. Headed down to Spring Hill for a Marketplace buy in a bit. Nelson will get to ride with me, so he’ll be happy. Yesterday, when I got ready to go to the housewarming, he got all excited like he was going to get to take a ride. When I turned to say goodbye (yes, I do that), he just looked disappointed. I felt guilty.

We’re home!!!

Car is unpacked, and I’ve started laundry. I’m having a bowl of clam chowder, tho there are way more N.O.T.s than clams. Roxy is still feverish - she’s napping right now. All in all, glad to be home. I’ll be gladder when I can sleep in my own bed.

For the record, the EconoLodge in Florence is not a luxury motel… :stuck_out_tongue: It’s the first place I’ve stayed that didn’t have a carpeted room, and the fake wood flooring was ever so slightly sticky. Now I know why people pay twice as much for Holiday Inn.

Howdy. Made soup with the leftover beef stew and it was good if I do say so myself.

Thumb is getting worse and hubby has the same thing same hand. Weird.

Looks like our little trip to Cocoa FL next week is not happening due to no dog sitter. The new vet recommended a retired gentleman to call but I don’t feel comfortable leaving him with someone I never met. I will reschedule and go meet him before then. Other option is to fly and leave hubs home with Buddy. The New Vet can take him but I would not be able to pick him up on Sunday nor Moanday as it’s a holiday. I just will not leave him there for five nights when we only need three.

Hubs says it may be a blessing in disguise due to being a holiday weekend and crazy drivers. All’s well that ends well.

I am so tahred. Always tired. I think a nap is in order.
Glad you are home safely Moooooooommmmmmm

Pets do make travelling all complamicated… Even finding someone to come in and feed my axolotls when I was away (which only needs doing every 4-5 days) was tricky.

Just got back from extracting rent from my other pets; I think I got almost 6kg of honey, which isn’t all that much as hives go, but as I’m not selling it (not worth trying to meet the hygiene and labelling regs for the amount I’d be likely to have) it’s plenty for me. I’m gonna experiment with making mead, as you always get some that you can’t really separate from the wax which is fine for mead making. I’ll hopefully have enough wax to try making some candles later in the year as well.

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, came back to da cave and had sammiches. Nappage then ensued. I put the pot roast on to cook in the slow cooker when I got back to da cave so it did it’s thang whilst I napped. Sup got made and we just et and got the kitchen cleanded up and also got the biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. All in all not a bad day.

MOOOOOOM glad y’all made it back safe and sound. I have stayed in towns where EconoLodge was the high end place to stay. This was when I traveled for irk. I got to go to some real classy places!

Curling was fun, if chilly. Having an Old Fashioned. Gonna make tortilla crusted fish for dinner.

Or Irish. “what’s the difference between an Irish funeral and and Irish Wake? One less drunk”

Ahhhh… the other side of the family. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s a lot of honey nut. Sweet!

I had a nice drive to Spring Hill with Nelson. The purchase looks pretty good, with stuff that will work well for cards.

I made bibimbap and a nice cucumber salad for supper. 'Twas good.

I got Polish on Mom’s side, German and Irish on Dad’s. My family’s not picky, as long as you can hold your liquor.

I guess I should be more tolerant of drinking in memory of the dead…being of German-Irish background…

It’s cloudy and cool (77F) here and the weather folks say the rain will start Any Time Now. They don’t have soccer games scheduled for the 31st (Labor Day weekend), but I’m trying to get some together (have enough of my 10U’s willing, still polling my 12U teams). Most folks don’t leave here during the long weekend, they wait until 7-11 October when the schools take a whole week off so they have a 9-day ‘vacation’.

Moooooommm, glad you are home safe. Never stayed in an Econolodge to the best of my memory, and now will try to remember not to stay in one in the future…

Butters, sorry to hear about the trip; hope the new guy works out for future excursions.

Nut, if you do succeed in making mead, I bet I know several MMP’ers willing to come over to ‘sample’ it for you…

All y’all take care and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.

Another half a car load of stuff gone and then we did some relative visiting. Considering I got up at 5am I may not hang around to see if this makes another page or not.

Ummm, nope. :o Try again.
This was a day of shooting sun____ things, first sunrise, then sunflowers, & finally sunset. However, I’m too fried to look thru all of the pics. :frowning:

Well I guess the weekend is over, dammit. I already don’t want to go to irk tomorrow.
