listing comedy props is one thing, but a comedy prop that was made into someone’s ongoing comedic signature? that no one else can use without being called on it? that’s iconic, to me.
Such as Steve Martin’s arrow-through-the-head mentioned by twickster. No one else can wear one of those and perform comedy without most people thinking “Hey, that’s Steve Martin’s schtick”.

Glass of whiskey and the tall stool… oh, what was his name? Had a half-hour TV show that just consisted of him sitting on the stool and telling jokes. Funny guy… very suave and urbane… was missing part of a finger… but I forget his name. Damn.
