I got a leaflet through my door.
It’s just a one-woman operation - she sensibly decided to start a little business in lockdown.
If you live in the East Midlands of the UK, I’ll give you the details…
Congrats, butters!
CONGRATS!!!
Love the brick work on the arches (or are they tiles?) but I confess, I’m not crazy about the color. I assume it’s a fully fenced back yard?
Supper was pretty good - I love how tender meat comes out from sous vide! Tomorrow I’ll rotiss a chickie. Today, I’m done. Assume the chill mode!
Forgot to ask, Butters - how close will you be to your son?
Glad your vision is improving knott.
shoe, I remember lake effects snow and have declared that I will never live anywhere where that’s part of my local weather forcast again.

I like the house butters!
The two things that I outsource when possible are assembling furniture and spring cleaning / carpet cleaning (the service that I use includes cleaning carpets in the spring cleaning). I’ve also hired out oil changes for most of the last ~27 years and tend to take the car to the car wash that does the interior for you (cost accounting found that it only costs me ~$4 more that way).
All of that leaves me with more time to play in the studio and hang out with Nelson.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
Howdy Y’all! Got the errands out of the way early this mornin’ (well, mid-mornin’) and then worked on my sloth skills. Sup got cooked and et and the kitchen is all cleanded up. Thus has it been in swampland today.
VanGo it’s OK to miss Cinnamon. I still miss every pet I have ever had. Also, that road you described sounds like an alley. We have lots of paved and unpaved alleys down here.
Butters WOOHOO! So glad you got the house you wanted in Palm Coast.
Suddenly my allergies went nutz.
I think we are crying as much for our rainbow bridge pets as for you. It’s been over a year and I still water up every time I think about The Best Cat in the World.
Congrats on the new place, butters, it’s very pretty! How deep is your front porch area? It looks like it would be a wonderful place to sit and enjoy your morning coffee.
Hubs used to do all of the vehicle stuff, but old age kicked his butt and now we pay someone else to do it all. He still schedules all of the routine stuff and takes my car for oil changes and car wash so nothing has really changed for me in that area.
We’ve always paid someone to do the heavy yard work and I puttered around with the flower beds and such. Cleaning out the vegetable beds this year has been a bit of a challenge and I might have to pay someone else to do it next year.
Hiring a housekeeper to come in once a week was one of the best choices we have ever made. It happened because hubs retired before I did and I announced that I was no longer going to spend my weekends doing housework. Hubs certainly didn’t want to do it himself, so he hired Pam. I adore her. When she retires, we will have to find someone else because we don’t want to go back to dealing with floors and ceiling fans again.
We bought a robot litter box because we would rather put out 500 bucks for a machine than scoop the boxes ourselves.
I hadn’t realized how lazy we were until I started typing. Hmmmm.
No, we are supporting the local economy and helping support our friendly neighborhood gig workers, that’s what we are doing!
Hubs took our friend over the mountain to his new digs. They needed to get paperwork signed and friend wanted to look at furniture. I’ve suggested that he put friend’s rolly walker chair in the car because friend really can’t walk that far and hubs poo-poohed me. Today, after the unsuccessful furniture shopping trip, the walker is now in the car because friend really cannot walk across a store anymore.
While they were gone, I got all motivated and cleaned out the deep cabinets under the kitchen island. I can’t reach into them far enough and stuff was getting lost in the back. I had to use our grabby thing to reach everything, but I sorted everything into clear plastic bins that I could slide in and out. We lost about 5 inches in the back, but oh well.
As that was the most productivity I’ve displayed for days, I felt I should sit down and stitch for a few hours and rest.
My son is in Melbourne so probably 20 minutes away. The yard is fully privacy fenced since Buddy would probably bark at neighbors. I need to do some tree planting for some shade. And flowers. The lot is twice as big as the one here in the Keys. Plus I’m gonna pay in full so it will be mine and I’ll still have plenty to live on.
There’s a Publix and a Walmart about 10-15 minutes away.
Your new digs sound perfect butters!
{{{janedoe}}} I miss TBCITW with you. I’ve cried more today putting those pictures into frames than I have in years.
But we do have the tales of GG to keep the pet smiles coming.
I did take a good look at the pics through my tears. I could tell that Cinnamon wasn’t just loved, he loved and adored you like only a Very Good Dog can. It’s fairly obvious that you are a Very Good People.
{{{ huggzz }}}
Yay!!
Hey y’all. Sorry for bringing a down into the MMP. I’m doing much better now, just needed a couple hours to recover. Thanks for putting up with my crap.
Now, onwards with good news. Well…I don’t have any, one potential project fell through, and it seems the other is going from $25k to 15, before expenses. But hey, work is work.
So, be safe and sound everyone. Love you all.
You were NOT a downer, the memories are bittersweet but part of love. Plus, you motivated me to move a few pics of TBCinW to flikr. It wasn’t as hard as I thought.
I just moved his pics to the pet picture thread.
That was a beautiful story. I read through it before it snuck off to the pet pic thread, that beard, he was a beaut. Happy thoughts for all of our furry friends on the other side of the bridge. I like to think of them all playing together.
No kidding. I worked out the price of oil and so forth and discovered if I changed my own oil, I’d save a whole $4.
Someday, post Covid, I might seriously look into a cleaning person…
So that’s what Cinnamon looked like. Gorgeous dog. Also, I liked the picture frame. I need to get something like that.
I really wish there was a way to be able to see people’s profile pics enlarged by demand. I only realized that he was using Cinnamon’s pic one day when I was on my tablet. Usually I read the dope on my laptop.
Our housekeeper knocks on the door, we greet her on the front porch, ask about her family and then go out for breakfast. Of course, we were using her before the world ended, so already trusted her alone with our cats.
As usual, I made too much meatloaf. Aside from the usual sandwiches or just reheating, any suggestions for the excessive leftovers?
