I'd rather pay someone to do that in the MMP

nellie I have had some outpatient procedures with medicare. The hospital handled the pre-approval. Are they managing that, or are they expecting that you will do that?

Holy crap can most people on the internet not spell/write!! I mean, I knew that, but I mostly hang out here. My virtual bariatric support includes two Facebook groups and one message board, and I just visited the message board for the first time in a while. I always appreciate the communication skills of everyone in the MMP (and on the Dope in general), but man…spend some time elsewhere, and the difference in quality becomes super stark. That board has a singles forum, for folks to talk about post-op dating – and, I guess, to flirt – but no one seems capable of writing a complete sentence. There are other bariatric boards, but it’s too depressing to consider looking at any of them. The writing in one of the FB groups can be kind of scary, too, but for some reason I expect better on a message board.

I guess you guys are stuck with me.

It’s 33f and cloudy here, headed for 37f, maybe.

On Monday night, actually Toosday morning, I dreamed that Amy Schneider lost on Jeopardy, so Toosday night I made a point of watching Jeopardy. (I usually do, but not always) She didn’t lose, so Wifey got to laugh at me. But then she lost last night. Coincidence, or precognition?
For what it’s worth, I don’t believe in precognition, but I have experienced some ESPy stuff, so I’m not betting my life on it.

No, they can’t. What annoys me is when the news readers on TV can’t use the language properly. Not that I always do, but when I was in school, the Journalism majors had to take heavy Communication/English workloads.

I picked up a packet of smoked Atlantic salmon today. The brand is Pacific Supreme. Either I’m confused, or something’s fishy.

LOVE the color. Congratulations!

I should do that, because the recipe I have is way too much for the two of us. Freeze before or after cooking?

VanGo, keep talking about your beloved Cinnamon. He was a beauty.

Too bad it wasn’t my neighborhood. But then, we don’t have Uber here and the taxis are super expensive,

I’ve caught up, but it’s past 2300, so I should go to bed. Not much happening except work. At least we’ve had lots of sunshine, unlike some neighboring towns which have had some serious fog.

And I had some tequila reposada. So I should really go to bed.

'Night!

Happy Thorsday!

Was a frigid 9 degrees this morning. I wimped out and skipped the park.
They are pretty tired from yesterday anyway.
Even Echo was anxious to go home.

I have a huge pile of laundry at the bottom of the stairs.
I’ll be doing laundry for quite a while.

I texted a bit with the neighbor’s niece last night. My neighbor was still in the emergency room, still going through some tests. She was telling everybody she is fine and she doesn’t know why she is there. I hope she is fine, but she needs to be there.
I know she is the reason I will never get rid of mice permanently. Although since she got her new cat, we haven’t had but two.
At least it isn’t roaches.
I hope the police do say something to the appropriate people and get her some help with hoarding, but the police said they don’t do that. Whether they were saying that for her benefit or it’s the truth?

It is a concern MetalMouse, or it should be when living alone.
A friend’s FIL fell in his house, and hit his head on the brick hearth, knocking himself out. He was there for a few days before my friend’s husband got ahold of a neighbor to check on him. They didn’t know you could call the police for welfare checks. He survived, but he was never the same afterwards, and a short time afterwards he went into a nursing home. It’s one of the downsides of living alone, I guess.
He wasn’t a hoarder, but his house had too much furniture, making it a little difficult to move around in some spots.
And in the TMI department, they had to shampoo the carpet many times to get the stains and smell out, because body functions don’t stop when you are passed out.

Gorgeous George is a handsome cat.
Good Luck with the eye drops.
My neighbor is lucky we got a police officer who bent the rules.
The first officer who wouldn’t do anything was pretty young, and we figure she wasn’t going to chance doing anything wrong. The officer who worked his way in there has 15 years on the force, so we think he was a little bit better at assessing the situation and willing to risk breaking the rules.
So glad he did.
I just heard the hospital admitted my neighbor.
So, despite her protests, she is not fine.

I think she may be as stubborn and FCD

Happy Anniversary Taters

I don’t know why people don’t help other people up. Of course, if I tried to help, I’d probably end up on the ground with them, and now there are two people who need help.
I once saw an elderly man fall and I was shocked that nobody else stopped. I pulled over to the curb, helped him up, and then drove him home.

Hope you heal quickly Butters.

VanGo, don’t feel bad about expressing yourself. We all have done it.

Atlantic Salmon is the species, not the location

Finally back from the dentist. I got there early and they took me early, and the cleaning and xrays and such took about half an hour. Then I sat another half an hour waiting for the dentist to come in and tell me everything is fine. I ran into Food Lion for a calzone, which is in the oven at the moment because I don’t feel like real cooking.

Roxy is better, tho still snotty. She won’t go to school tomorrow, but unless she relapses tonight, SIL will keep both kids tomorrow. So I get a break.

OK, off to eat.

Now that I see it, I will always see it! Very cute

Back when I was working at the Arizona Memorial I was still young and pretty self-absorbed. My folks had managed to instill enough respect in me that I understood what a treasure it was to be able to listen to the Docents and I made a point to pay attention. They weren’t young people even back then, many of them are no longer around.

The entire complex is a National Park so is operated by the Federal government and I wore a park ranger uniform (with a ball cap, us lowly janitorial staff were not entitled to wear the Smokey the Bear hats). The Memorial itself is a National Cemetery and respect was demanded.

I am still all agog at the incredible coincidence of the conversation even getting started, what are the odds?

Guys, ya’ll ain’t seen nothing yet. We expect him to gain another 4 or 5 pounds in actual weight plus another 10 pounds in perception due to his long, thick mane and thick, plush fur.

That makes me feel better, thank you. GG can manage a door that’s open at least 3 inches.

I cringe when I think about your poor toes. Are you able to drive in your slippers? That might be a little more comfortable.

It’s been three years since I walked off the job and I still wake up pissed off at my ex-sup about once a week or so.

GG actually stands for Gormless George. He’s a golden retriever in a cat suit.

You are a good person and I’m sure his family heaped many blessings on your head when they heard about it.

My new pole and bird feeders arrived today and hubs planted it outside the back window. I’ve filled all of the feeders and moved one of the feeders from the other pole hoping to entice the some of the birds to move. No birds have found the new feeding station and because I’ve changed the old one, they are afraid of it as well.

I had a dentist appointment this morning so hubs picked up the surplus produce for me. I start my morning with coffee, then move to ice water with a lemon wedge for the rest of the day, so was happy to see that we had been given a dozen nice looking lemons. Did you guys know that if you put your lemon in the microwave for 10 seconds it helps break down the membranes so you get more juice with less work?

I took our leftovers to town, but didn’t have lunch with my friend because my lips were too numb for me to manage a straw, I didn’t want to bite my lip off trying to eat a hamburger.

GG is still having attachment issues and VBC is scheduled for a dental in a couple of weeks. It’s not going to be pretty.

I don’t have nightmares about work, but I do have weird dreams that take place at work, but invariably, the building isn’t the same and some of the people are different. They all seem to be about the place I retired from 10 years ago, so extra weird.

The calzone wasn’t bad, and I’m about to settle in for max chillage.

Howdy Y’all! We slothed. We chilled. We napped. We made and et sup. Have I mentioned lately how much I lurve bein’ a retired drain on society?

BooFae hope the tootsies are feelin’ better today.

Dicey I freeze the beastloaf uncooked. I froze a cooked one once and didn’t think it tasted quite as good reheated. A frozen uncooked beastloaf, however, bakes up nicely. Just remember to take it outta da freezer the night before or early the mornin’ of the day you want to bake it. It takes a few hours to thaw, at least it does for me.

Taters belated Happy Anniversary to you and the Mr.

Oopsie I am appalled at the number of people on the internet that ain’t got no good grammer and caint spel two gud.

But he is gorgeous!

He is definitely gorgeous!

Butters can anyone give you a second opinion about your foot? It’s really bothering me that you would have needed surgery, but you don’t need it now. Also, of course, that he completely missed this all in the first place. He should also give you a handicapped tag to use when someone drives you somewhere AND you should get a referral to an OT to learn the best way to do things when you leg is wonky and when it gets better.

I’m feeling a bit het up about this and it’s not even my leg. I feel like giving that dr a call. Grrrrr. I’ll send you hugs and healing vibes instead.

sari, glad you could be there for your neighbor.

unknown, may you survive VBC’s eyedrops with your skin intact.

Hope that FCD doesn’t get sore tomorrow Moooooom.

VanGo, my dad uses this walnut cracker . If you decide to harvest your walnuts, an antique corn sheller is the way to go for husking (don’t forget to wear safety glasses when using it though).

butters, glad the foot is healing nicely. When I broke my ankle a few years back, the doc didn’t catch the break on the X-ray until he had an ortho friend look at it.

That’s a cool connection unknown and flyboy.

Happy anniversary taters!

Irked, came home and took Nelson to the dog park. He got to play with some of his buds and a couple of new puppers (Dahlia May is a JR / beagle mix with a similar play drive to Nelson and Daisy is a four month old pitty puppy). Much fun was had before the weekend’s bad weather is slated to commence. Now soaking up some TV.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

GG really is a nice looking cat. I hope can eventually figure out doors.

One more pic of Cinnamon, here with his best friend Dini after a walk on the beach.

Imgur
Over the 13+ years that we were fortunate enough to know Dini, she probably stayed my family for Christmas 6 times. Her owner, my best friend, would go to visit his family on a plane so she’d come with us to visit my folks in Maine. 130 pounds of dog is a lot to have in the back seat of a pickup truck for a 7 hour drive. But it was wonderful, and I’ll miss it forever.

And one more pic of Cin just because.

Cinnamon looks so regal in these pics VanGo.

I was thinking that Cinnamon looks happy and content. But regal works too!

Really he was a big goofball. He could look the part, but couldn’t act it. Cartoon dog on the TV? Gotta woof at it. Or at least a low “grrrr.” He didn’t like the LiMu Emu.

Anytime a new person came into our shop, there was a first warning “woof-woof”, always a “woof” at any knock at the door, then when he saw they were ok-UPS guy, a co-worker, friend just stopping by, he’d run up to them and hop and hop on his back feet and try to get some quality pats. Never was a big kisser, just wanted to be near people.

Napped, watched some hockey, Made Smoked Paprika Chicken with Bo seasoned potato rounds, and lemon pepper brocolli.

Yay!

Reminds me of Gordie’s BFF, Teddie. Nothing like hearing a 180lbs. GSD mix barking, then open the door and he’s sitting there with a pink squeaky toy in his mouth.
