My frequently shifting schedule appears to be cooperating, so mark me down as planning to attend. I’ve never been to either of the restaurants that have been discussed, so I don’t have incredibly strong feelings either way, although as a fan of spicy food, Ray’s does look kind of intriguing. Wow … a Dopefest after well over a decade since my last one. It’ll be a blast from the past.
I might be able to attend, but can’t say this far in advance.
I expect to be out of town at the time, but if that changes, I will likely join.
Went to Ray’s today and talked with the manager. They don’t take reservations but they say a big group up to 20 or so won’t be a problem if we arrive before 6. I went around 3 pm or so and there were only a couple of customers and plenty of room to push tables together.
I make my own schedule so any time is good.
You should start a separate thread titled something like “Dopefest in Arlington, Virginia on December 17th”, since this thread hasn’t been revived for a while and it isn’t clear where the Dopefest is going to be from the title of this thread.
I’d recommend just modifying the title adding Arlington, VA in () for the location (I went ahead and reported this), since I think it’d be more confusing to lose all the discussion in this thread.

I’ll also add that I think Ray’s is a good choice unless the attendee list grows too large. I said earlier that there would be plenty of room for 20, but I may have been overestimating the size of Ray’s interior – 12 would be fine, I’m pretty sure, but if it gets up to 20 we might be pushing it.
There are tons of restaurants within a few blocks, so if we have any problems there it will be easy to find another place, especially if we go Saturday early afternoon.
I suggest nametags.
I didn’t get on the plane, I had to cancel last minute due to my mom getting sick and then me getting sick, both in a very short order. Sick as in sick enough to have to be in the hospital sick.
I don’t know if we still want to hold the Dopefest, but I think a completely new thread would be good. It doesn’t matter that there has been a lot of discussion in this thread. Just link to this thread. Note that this thread already links to a previous thread.
