IE 5.5 Upgrade from 5.0

Can anyone tell me what upgrading to 5.5 from 5.0 did? Microsofts’ site mentions things like web design and whatnot. I don’t design web pages. Did I need the upgrade?

All I’ve noticed are two new problems now affecting my browser-

  1. When I click on a link, my pointer no longer has the task sand clock next to it, unless I move it up in the button section of the browser. Real irritating.

  2. Whenever I load an audio or video image from a link within a site, when it plays it closes the damn window + site that I was in. WTF! Do they think I only wanted this one audio clip and now their saving me a mouse click by closing the window? Jerk-Offs.

Anyrate, do I resort to going back to 5.0 or is there some good reason to keep 5.5?

have a look at what cnet says…

“What about people who already have IE 5? Print Preview is really the only new tool in the whole application. We recommend you wait to download this version until Web sites start using IE 5.5’s snazzy, new DHTML support.”
