If I'm off today, why am I starting the MMP?

That way, if you fall asleep during a conference, no one can take a sharpie to you.

Moooom, as someone who has been on both sides of the ISO audit, just answer the questions with no extra comments and if you don’t know the answer, refer them to your boss.

Good luck with the VA, rockin’!

I have a hell of a mess to clean up before month end. The one department that I can count on to be a piece of cake had a totally fubar count this weekend that I have to make sense of. Oh, well.

Happy Monday!

My coworker just helpfully pointed out that the fly on my jeans is broken. It’s not terribly noticeable when I’m standing up, so I decided not to go home and get new pants. Mostly because I’ve only got about 2 hours left of work, so screw it.

Did co-worker notice because you’re wearing Swampy’s favorite…gold lamè & it caught the light?

Speaking of him, my post from this morning went ::Poof:: - Swampy, please grab your pearls & report to the fainting couch IMMEDIATELY This morning on the drive to irk, I noticed a large # of rolls of TP on the far side of the breakdown lane/shoulder of the expressway. Given the high sound barrier wall & the lack of even a single tree/bush for some privacy I’m guessing a large multipack went flying from the back of a pick’emup twuck where it exploded upon hitting the roadway???
Rotsa ruck, Robyn.

Speaking of TP, you should all be comforted in knowing that I have 250 rolls in the garage, plus a handful under the sinks in the bathrooms.

I think the people at Target were too busy snarfing up bargains to notice my scandalous attire. Seriously, the place was looking like the wrong side of Black Friday.

OK, cooks among Mumpers - I could use some suggestions. I just bought some peaches from an Amish farmer, and to my dismay, they are kinda mealy and not particularly flavorful. Is there anything I can do to avoid throwing them away? Will they benefit from being cobblered? Or muffined? Or pied? We’re just finishing a peach cake I made last week, so that’s not going to happen.

Ideas?? Thanks ever so…

Mealy peaches can benefit from smidges of equal parts vanilla and almond extract, and an extra quarter cup of sugar and a bit of butter for baking applications. The texture will still be less-than, but the taste will work.

Spidey actually seein’ a multi-pack of tp go flyin’ through the air would be amusin’. Provided it didn’t hit anybody or cause a major accident of course. Did you stop to see if any of it was still useable? :stuck_out_tongue:

gotti maybe they all just thought you got confused and thought you were in :eek:Wally*World:eek:. Also proud to know you are all stocked up.

MOOOOOOM I’d ditch the mealy N.O.P. However, Peaches’ advice does sound like it could make 'em ok.

Shortly I shall don clothin’ suitable for bein’ in the public. OYKW wants to go as soon as the place opens at five in the p. of m. I am gettin’ hongry so that’ll work for me.

No, a leather uniform shirt and club colors was far too well-dressed for WallyWorld.

The one thing that still surprises me a bit is nobody seems to even notice the piercing. Guess they really are ordinary in this region.

Doing some proofreading work for a friend, and working on some music.

Back from the orientation, and it went well.

The 4pm professor didn’t show up, however her room had changed to the same room as the 6pm professor. The 6pm professor was there early and since Sah-son was there for the cancelled 4pm, the 6pm professor went ahead and orientated him. He was out before 4:30, we stopped at TacoHell for dinner, got home around 5, and we are done.

Well I am. He has assignments due on Wednesday, so he has a lot to do.

Source: my granny. (Great-grandmother.) Nothing was wasted at her house. Mealy peaches happened in dry years. She added a few drops of extract and a bit of sugar when we canned, and extract, sugar, and butter in fresh baked goods. Good eating, even when the crop was not stellar.

My friends’ granny used cloves and nutmeg instead of vanilla and almond. Also fine, if you like clove and nutmeg. More of an autumn flavor. Not my favorite.

**FCD **asked me to make him a peach crisp. I’m going to try it with vanilla, almond, and a bit of nutmeg and cinnamon. Not today - but later this week, I think.

We went to not-too-terrible Chinese for supper. I got shrimp and veggies, and it was good. I’s stuffded. I just finished emptying the dishwasher - didn’t have enough time this morning. My chores for the day are done.

I got a statement from the insurance company - FCD’s last surgery cost almost $47K!!! Our share was just over $1K - oh, and this was just for the hospital. There were still bills from the doctor and the anesthesiologist. Suddenly paying $500/mo for insurance doesn’t hurt so bad. But

Howdy Y’all! Home from Mexican comestibles. Well, have been home for a little while. I acted as DD so OYKW had two hyuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge margaritas as he had a rough day poor thing. Anywho, he’s havin’ a soak in the tub and I suspect will be havin’ an early bedtime. In addition to bein’ hyuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge, the place is not stingy with the tequila.

And if you can’t trust a Jawja granny when it comes to peaches, you can’t trust anyone. :stuck_out_tongue:

Moooom, another thing you might try is spiced peaches. Kinda like spiced apples, but with peaches.

I am now an official persona grata in my new town: not only am I living, working and paying bills here, but I got my voter registration card in the mail today.

Home and already unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher. I guess sketties is for supper but it won’t cook itself. Sigh. I popped the cork on a bottle of Chardonnay as I had a rough Moanday.

Kitty slept all day and when I got home I attempted to dose her with her antibiotics. Got some into her anyway. Then she was ready to go out into the scary outdoors. Hubs brought home litter and we were gonna set up a litter box but maybe not. Damn critters.

I got approved for my training trip to Orlando next week. I leave on Tuesday and back on Sat. Moanday is a holiday. I don’t want to go. Most anyone else would love a free trip to Disney but not me. It’s gonna be hot and muggy. I can’t take my dog. I will be glad when it’s over. Plus it’s at the first part of the month when I have a million other things to be doing. Woe is me. Too old for this shit.

Our tropical storm disappoints. We have had off and on rain, little breezes and nary a day off. Wimpy little Depression. Looks like Doogiooo will get some of it as well as the one lurking offshore of NC. Not fair.

Off to cook I guess.

Woke up from nap. Feeling groggy and blah, as sometimes happens with nap.

Today was a waste of time. I got x-rays done of both ankles, knees, and lower back. I do have some minor arthritis in my back, but normal knees and ankles. I think my hearing test worked out, but I’m not sure. If I’m approved for any of this, I’ll be surprised. The injuries that were documented in my Navy records were apparently too trivial to cause any lasting damage, and most of my problems are soft tissue, so they wouldn’t show up on an x-ray anyway. Blurf.

Went to the scout parents’ meeting and volunteered to help out with some emergency preparedness programming; I know the emergency planning guy at the county, so I said I’d email him to see what/if he can do. That’s my warm fuzzy for the day.

Oy!

I just had a laundry accident that I haven’t had for, what?, 11 years (I remember because I had just started working where I work now). I washed, and more devastatingly, dried a load of clothes with a tube of my favorite summer shade of lipstick in a pants pocket. :smack:

Oddly enough, it didn’t do too much damage to the khakis and no damage to the darker clothes. However, I’m going to have to take some oxyclean to get the Very Berry out of a couple of blouses.

I’m off every day --------- but that’s a different kind of “off”.

Speaking of which my usual 3-5 hour Monday that I thought would be a 8-10 hour Monday became a 12 hour Monday. My manager was asking for volunteers to come in early tomorrow ------- I made a special point of not hearing that. We’re reorganizing the floor layout again which is always especially ugly the first day under the new plan. I’m doing my usual shift and maybe some voluntary extra time at the end but that is the limit of it.

And if the scissors don’t work you know who to call for heavier stuff.
