Basketball.
I played basketball in sixth grade. I was the tallest gal in the class, so I was the center. Went up for the starting tip off, and landed wrong on my ankle. It made a loud crack. Not broken, but it did get me out of gym for a couple of weeks
Well, Tony survived the hitchhiker (who, as it turns out, only matched the chase suspect’s description in that he’s also a male human being.) And the SC state trooper was nice - could’ve written Tony up for speeding, no license on his person, and the rear turn signal that keeps blowing out. But just a seat belt ticket. Anyway $25, and Tony just proceeded to the court house and paid it before he came home.
(The hitchhiker was 67 years old. Gonna be a long trip to Pennsylvania, poor fellow. But he made decent time today, thanks to receiving rides from a lady this morning, plus Tony. Glennville, Georgia to Bamberg, South Carolina - about 120 miles. And a room and meal tonight. Hopefully he’ll be out of the tropical weather before Hermine gets to him.)
Gotta hit the grocery store in the morning, for a few supplies in case we lose power. We aren’t under any warnings right now, but all of the parents and in-laws are, so we may be hosting refugees if things get bad further south of us.
No sleep yet tonight. Why me???
We got some rain overnight - yay! And we might get some this weekend, altho the latest storm track takes the remains of the hurricane farther east. We shall see…
I called my mom last night since I hadn’t spoken with her for some time. She’s having her pool closed next week, and a couple weeks after that, she’s flying to Seattle to start her cruise to Miami via the Panama Canal. A week after she gets back, we leave.
My baby sis will go stay at Mom’s once she gets back - she’ll be having a knee replacement. Needless to say, my mom’s all excited about having the 3 dogs and 2 cats living with them for however long it takes. :rolleyes: How long does it take to recover from a knee replacement?
Other than that, same old routine. It’s been a long week - thank goodness for the long weekend!

Yesterday, when I got to the doc’s, there was an accessible van offloading two patients, both of whom had severe muscular degeneration. One couldn’t lift his head off his attached tray/table, and the other would occasionally throw his head back and let out a yell that to me sounded like pure and utter frustration. Likely, it’s the only sound he can produce. Their caregivers were patient and caring, but it got me thinking. No matter how bad my spoonless days are, I have to be grateful that I can manage a lot of things by myself. Fluffy calls me the healthiest sick person she knows. So, as bad as it gets for me, and some days are horrible, there’s always someone out there who is worse off.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out cloudy and muggy with a predicted high of ONLY 85 (BRRR!) and rain/tstorms/tropical deluge/apocalypse beginnin’ this afternoon. We are still under a TS warnin’. We shall see. Oh and this is supposed to be today and tomorrow as I mentioned yestiddy.
Today I shall make the cake and so some other prep stuff for Sattidy. The crowd is bein’ kept to eight people includin’ us so that’s doable. Just hopin’ Sattidy is a nice day like it’s supposed to be.
OK, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. I should also purtify up somewhat and then get busy.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. I’m gonna go watch practice in a bit. 
I’m not even going to dignify it with a response. (Other than this one.) 
Boy Roomie had a co-worker of his, who does a lot of construction, come look at our garage last night. The short story is that it’s worse than we thought. Sometimes I really wish I’d bought a different, newer house. But my house has character, man. And I’ll never wonder what to do with my disposable income. I would like to make the garage a storage area, really - we’re never going to keep cars in there because we’re unsure about the floor, but it would be nice if it was at least finished, so the exposed pipe that leads directly to my shower doesn’t freeze below 20 degrees.
I’ve always heard that about Lithuanians.
Mini-break. I just finished modeling the second of the 4 control boxes we brought down from storage yesterday. About to start on the 3rd - it’s going to be a bit of a challenge. Might take a couple of hours just to duplicate the artwork. So why am I talking to you people?? I’ve got work to do!

I have achieved pound cake makeage. It’s coolin’ as I post. In a little while I shall be able to take it out of the cake pan. It looks purty. The crumblies on top look just right. 'Tis a sour cream/cream cheese cake so it should be so goooooooooooood! It shall be served with strawberries, ice cream, and real whipped cream. Sattidy desert shall be wunnerful!
Still no rain/tstorms/apocalypse but still under a TS warnin’. Late this afternoon, tonight and tomorrow will be the time so say TWPTB.

Turns out the artwork wasn’t as complex as I’d anticipated. I’m very nearly done box #3. But I took a much-needed lunch break before finishing.
It looks kinda gloomy outside, or at least it did when I walked past the lobby enroute to the kitchen. Hope it’s not raining when I head home - I need to stop for milk. And I’m thinking fish for supper. That’s all I’ve come up with so far. There will be vegetable matter to accompany it.
Operating today on about 2 hours sleep if that. so, blurf.
Is there any difference from the way military instrumentation is mounted in a panel? Is there a level on this anywhere?

**flytrap **- I don’t understand your question. Some equipment has specific hardware for mounting, depending on size and weight and accessibility requirements. Others, like these small control boxes I’m doing, are mounted on Dzus rails spaced 5.365" on hole center and the placement of the Dzus quarter-turn fasteners matches the placement of the holes in the rails.
