IF McCain is elected, reactions?

Actually, our election will be over well before the Americans have theirs, so if you’re still figuring out who to vote for when McCain gets elected, you’ll be too late.

You really like that quote, huh?

And so I go my fearful way betwixt heaven and earth and all their active forces; and all I can see is a monster, forever devouring, regurgitating, chewing and gorging. — Goethe

My reaction would be a sort of dark satisfaction that yes, America really is as evil and stupid as I’ve said it is. Then I’d sit back and watch as it slides further towards self destruction.

I will begin learning the complete lyrics to “O Canada” and hope I can find some Canadian doper to marry me!

eeeeewwwwww. At least be sanitary and use camel piss.

I hope McCain wins bacause then Der Trihs will be satisfied and that will make me happy.

I, for one, will welcome our new maverick overlord

So, just an average week night for you, then?

I intend to sit by my PC and take a drink every time I hear a head pop on the SDMB. I will be drunk on my ass in ten, fifteen minutes, tops.

Same for me - just an average week night.

This explains much.

Yep.

Will he think Americans want to make war on Islam? That worries me. It also worries me that despite McCain being “a good man”, he’s old and tired and will leave too much of the work to underlings. We don’t know anything about who his underlings will be.

Not for nothing, but I would be surprised if it cost more than a few hundred dollars to buy an ad impression on every page served to non-subscribers for a month. I’m guessing that won’t bankrupt Bricker.

As for me, I’d get very suspicious about Diebold voting machines for a while. If I were still single, I’d probably give serious thought to moving abroad. Since I’m not anymore, I’d probably just wince, get bitchy for a few months and then move on with my life.

Well, yeah…only I generally use dog poo and don’t slash anything.

I will be deeply disappointed. Then I will hope for a tax cut.

Well, it all depends on whether Harper pulls the plug on Sunday or not, but yeah, it’s supposed to be October 14.

I’m just rolling my eyes over Palin getting huge blaring headlines on our newspapers every day. You know, we have elected politicians too!

A huge sigh of relief that Obama didn’t.

Cheer up. If he does win, it’ll be at least Inauguration Day before they come to take away your guns and haul your kids off to Queer Education Camp, so that gives you more than two months to plan your “blaze of glory.”

Don’t forget the abolition of religion! All churches converted to “We Love Obama” centers!

He better enjoy Christmas 2008. Once Obama takes over, it’ll be outlawed.

No, no - Death to Whitey.

ONe thing that makes me feel good about this thread is that no matter who you all say you are voting for, or how snarky or silly posts may be, at least you all are voting! I don’t care which candidate a poster supports, as long as they vote for somebody.

What really pisses me off is folks that complain about the state our country is in, then come to find out they didn’t even vote.

My 103 year old grandmother, who’s still sharp, will be voting. I think her vote and mine will cancel each other out, but I’m not going to dis on someone who, in their* first *presidential election, was voting for Herbert Hoover.
